The story's not terribly original, but it's been given a pretty upbeat direction and feels realistic now n then, I feel this younger chap is really playing it hot and cold right at the beginning and I don't like it. Hes being very manipulative, very non prince like, but that's the strategy he went with to get the girl I suppose ^^
The art, or lack thereof detracts from the overall enjoyment. It's not as dreamy or beautiful as one normally expects in quality shoujo, although surprisingly the side characters look a little better to me than the leads. The first volume's extra gives us a little insight into Rei's mind, so it endears him to the audience. Pacing is well done.
Characters are surprisingly honest and refreshingly novel in some of their traits. There are hilarious one liners here and there, like the spare key to the house hidden in the duck's wings and Kazuya/Player-kun bossing An around the house like a maid instead of making a move on her!
This one isn't a super memorable read what with the lack of chemistry or tension between the leads and general lack of doki doki, but it's a nice enough way to spend an hour or so when you want to procrastinate working on that troublesome report.
