i really like this manga. the plot, characters, they all close to human characteristic. ya know, selfish, "only me that matters", "who cares about others" part. sometimes i wish i could them, having fun like osaka gantz. lol
IMO one of the best mangas. The terrific cast of characters and twisting plots leads readers guessing what is going to happen next. The manga stays on track and never fails to deliver. True there might be a bit too much unnecessary fan service but since most of the fan service are during the chapter titles they are somewhat trivial.
This is, by far, one of the poorest mangas I've ever read. (only up to chp 60, or so)
Indeed, the art is nice, but you need much more than that to convince me of anything.
I'm far past this stage of my manga-life, but if you are into action, sex, blood, blood, blood, thrill and inconsistency in the plot, you are in for your new fap tool.

I haven't been this absorbed in a manga since Death Note. Intellectually, DN is more stimulating, but I love GANTZ for the pure fun factor. The suits, guns, aliens, points and-- the whole atmosphere feels like a crazy gaming dream/nightmare. The artwork is gorgeous and I found many of the characters very likable and well developed. If you liked Battle Royale, you would definitely love this because it deals with survival issues as well as death, blood and gore.
Probably my favorite thing about GANTZ is that it's one of the most consistently edge of your seat stories that I've read. The pacing is excellent, the questions keep coming and you're constantly going, "What happens next?!" You're constantly on your toes because before the pace of the story can ever slow down, a twist is tossed in.
I love the subtle touch of comedy too. Gantz, the black ball, has a very amusing sense of humor.
My only complaints are that the excessive girl nudity was unnecessary and annoying. Also the introduction of the vampires recently seems out of place.
After watching about 10 episodes of the anime, i went in expecting to hate this manga. Came out loving it, 250 chapters later. After various personality changes, it's much more enjoyable to read. The only thing that puts me of a tad is some of the the overdone fanservice on the covers.

How would you feel if your life was like a game to someone and the aim of that game was to survive? Well that’s the basic idea to this incredible manga. Gantz is very confusing because nothing is really explained, just little bits of info is given but thatt's all that’s needed to enjoy it. It’s incredible the way some of the characters are developed, especially the main one “Kei Kurorno” but it’s a shame that so many characters end up dead before they can develop. That is one of the bad points with another being the senseless violence and deaths which is a little bit much, even though it’s Rated 18. Well this is a superb manga, with the best artwork I’ve seen, that you should definitely check out; if only you can stomach the extreme gore, violence, sex and nudity. ^_^

I agree with the below . I really liked the beginning and its myriad of plot twists. The plot in the beginning moved neither too fast that it confused the readers nor too slow that it'd bore them to death. The action was slick and gory. Though I found only two characters that were actually interesting Kurono and Izumi. It was overall a fun read. However, after, they entered phase 2, the plot just began to progressively slooooowwwwwww down. It's a bit boring (due to the slow plot pace) right now, but hopefully it'll pick up in the coming chapters.
I really liked the beginning of this manga, and its twisted plot is still interesting. I also like the fact that it does not explain everything. But it's a little bit too slow and fanservice is excessive. Anyway, its rather addictive and the characters are interesting.
worth reading
I have to downgrade this as the last episodes have been so empty that it got almost annoying. If it keeps going at this pace it'll soon go underground

This is like a better version of battle royale. Much better (I dropped B.royale). The art is very clean, almost artificial.
The author use 3d computer programs to make it easier where to draw the character in relationship to the background. First time I've heard of this kind of method, kind of cool.
Alot of gore and alot of deaths. Seriously, people are dying all the time, "important" people too.
Definitely 16+ on this manga. Or even higher...
Only one thing though, one volume is too short. I'll read through one volume in no time.

When I started reading this I just thought of it as a wierd story. But after 6-7 vols I started to get a hold of the plot and the charactors and could not stop reading so i just red it until there was no more to read. I am happy that i am still alive so i can keep reading this amazing crazy manga.
