The oneshot Tsukio to Himawari is included in Vol 1:
Asahi-kun is a carefree junior-high student, never attaching to girls even though he enjoys going with them. But when the school's number 1 honor student Mitsuki "cyborg" Konno asked him for a 1-month date, in exchange for the front row ticket to his favorite singer's concert, he was forced to accept. He only has to show her what it feels like to date, right? He is ready for that. However, what he's not prepared for was his heart's reaction.
12 Volumes (Complete)

I read it when I was still a teenager, back in 2011 perhaps, while it was still ongoing lmao. I found it pretty cute back then, and whenever I reread it, I get a sense of nostalgia.
I don't think this student x teacher manga would be too unacceptable even in today's context. I think the characters maintained their boundaries realistically even though the manga is pretty old. Thus it's a good read..
This is a nice, airy romantic comedy with hints of subtle drama. The main characters are all appealing, even if the men are a little "too pretty" (It's a Shoujo manga, so effeminate looking leads are to be expected) and true to form there are no real "bad guys" (or bad girls) in the book, just circumstances, unresolved feelings and characters that need to grow.
Overall I felt that the opening and end of the book were quite good, but the middle part starts to get repetitive as the mangaka keeps throwing problems at the leading couple to keep them separated. The title "Faster than a Kiss" is kind of misleading, or perhaps ironic, because it takes Fumino an awfully long time to get hers.
If you can ignore the fact that the mangaka seemed determine to drag out any physical intimacy between the leads until right to the end of the story, no matter how unrealistic that is, you'll find a fun and sweet story to enjoy filled with a lot of heart.
I reading this and loving it so much. It's not so typical a shoujo and the guy character is more care free like a child. The one problem I had with it was her small boob complex.
It's .. Nice.. A nice sweet story.. Wish it had more to so with his background.. But it was nice and sweet still..: that's it. Nice and sweet. Haha
the beginning there is not much to.. Straight to the point about her living with her teacher.. The rest of the story is all about them trying to be more intimate.. So it got really really boring .. End is a happy one of course..

I liked this manga a lot. It was a school night and I staying up till 3 am to finish this( woke up late and had to run to school without food in the morning). It was so interesting, couldnt help it. I ired the way sensei took care of Fumino all the while when protecting her innocence. No other teacher would've done that. Beautiful love and happy ending. Awesome. Not too long and not too short. I would read it again if i have time.
i was started read this manga because i thought how adorable tanaka sensei works is. yeah,, i like this one too,, but later i got annoyed with how this story dragged for,
each chapter only shows that how lovey dovey they are, got some problems, and end up with that kazuma tried to comfort fumino. ugh! (=,=)
But i got my interest back, while i've read chapter 50 above, and so.... touching,,, >.<
i feel sorry for shouma, who fell in love with fumino, but how hard he tried to endure it,,even so, i'm glad that the story came to happy ending. And in the end, the relationship between main characters are so touching too,,,
So, i thing this story worth to read,, tanaka sensei knows how to make touching family story, hahaha. =D, but i want more extra chapter, huwaaa.... >.<
This is a typical shoujo with all the cliches and fluff, but it still has it's funny moments. So if you want to read a typical shoujo that doesn't require any brain activity from you I recommend it, because it's very cute, not that long and some scenes had me laughing out loud. However if you're looking for something more, this is not the manga for you. It's weakest point is the lack of character development, so yeah, the characters are as deep as a puddle ( a very cute puddle ^.^).
i only read the last chapter and i had so much feeling for the characters like that's how good it is XD
also i was going through the kiss drawings AND I GOT CHILLS this lady knows how to draw right !! they don't look stiff at all it looks so natural LOVE IT . i would love to be that girl THE CHILLS~!!!!! <3
if this was published in English i would love to buy it !!
Very sweet, very heartwarming. I love that it actually focuses more on the 'family' aspect of the main characters' relationship, and how their love is pretty straightforward and simplistic but not unbearably boring. (And by the way, kissing is not the only key to romance, guys, stop being so bothered.)
That being said, I'm really not fond of the many love rivals and find those irrelevant to the plot development. Many of the arcs are also redundant, which at times made me feel like the story is too dragged on. Not so great pacing and developments, but sweet story and likable characters; all in all, a quite nice read.
