Description

In a Tokyo of the not-too-distant future a young girl looks up to the stars with melancholy in her heart and hope in her eyes. Thirteen-year-old Asumi Kamogawa’s life has been tied to those stars; her future may very well be among them and she is not alone. This manga is so awesome, i can't believe only few people read it. The pace is perfectly done, it has a lot of without words yet could speak to your heart. The artwork is so simple but beautiful. All the character are lovable. I know, you maybe judging from the cover and was like 'meh..' yeah, i thought it was cheap manga at first, but after read the 1st volume i can't stop reading and in the end i have all 16 books on my bookshelf.

This is a story of a kind often found in manga: a kid strives with all her mind,heart, and soul to lay a foundation for making a mark in the world. I don't usually like those stories all that much, because all that striving tends to displace the feeling part of the story. The result is that you have to be at least somewhat interested in the kind of striving that is going on (e.g., baseball, martial arts) to enjoy the story. But this manga has elements in it that would be so upsetting to any protagonist that she could probably never manage to cut herself off from her feelings in order to become stronger in pursuit of her goal.

So we see our heroine engaged in two struggles simultaneously. One is purposeful and irable and the other is less orderly and far more emotionally intense. The emotional part of this story rings true throughout the manga, and will probably bring tears to the eyes of any reader who's gone though substantial loss or sorrow.

At the end things are a bit rushed, as so often happens in manga. Otherwise, this is a great, inspiring story of love and determination.

This was one of the first mangas I read when I started reading about 4-5 years ago and its one of the only ones that I can pretty much perfectly, it was one of the few mangas that was actually worth ing. I actually really liked the art, it was distinctive and cute; an interesting contrast to the deeply reflective storyline.

In all honesty, Twin Spica is a perfect demonstration of good choice and foresight I never expected to see from a domestic publisher. If only Dark Horse and Viz could start making the same improvements.

The story for Twin Spica is simple, but like most simple manga, tends to become convoluted with complex emotional details and character ordeals. I usually become infuriated by such titles because story progression is marred by drawn-out conflicts, and usually with no significant actions to depict. Still, I must it conjuring emotions out of me is a better alternative to feeling nothing at all. And in that respect, Twin Spica truly inspires a side of me that I thought died along with the rest of my childhood. I highly recommend this manga to just about anyone with a sweet tooth.

This manga is amazing
The character development is really deep and just makes you want to read more! If you are deciding if you want to read this or not, just ignore Dragonfiremule's comment, they were comparing this series to a shoujo manga, which it is NOT
Anyways, the art for this is very childish but it fits so perfectly with the story that its really easy to get used to. The manga is also very deep. I wasnt expecting it to have so many flashbacks, but they actually make this a very feel-good manga.
a must read, in my opinion 🙂

I really loves this. Its cute, and not too serious, but its serious at the same time. The Art is so-so. It gets its point across, but it isn't something I could just stare at all day long. Still, it serves its purpose.

The reason I gave this a 9 instead of a 10 is because I feel it spends too much time on character development/flash backs. Yes, I know this is opposite from normal; normal there is too little information/development, but while its great and everything, I started reading this because I wanted a manga about kids learning to become astronauts with kinda a Skip Beat/ Glass Mask vibe to it. I found something different, something I enjoy, but I still do wish they spent a little more time on the training aspect. (This written at chapter 19. I can't say anything about future parts.)

Overall, really enjoyable, even if the pace is a little slower then I like.

The artwork for this manga is so simple, but, dispite this, the story of Asumi and her friends is wondefully told and tugs at your emotions. A must read.

The space manga of the century.

Twin Spica is by far the best manga that incorporates space training. I mean this manga isn't just about people trying to fulfill their dreams, it also goes deep into the human mind and explore how our lives are linked to the ones around us. All I can say is this manga has some serious stuff.
