Erno Etam looks all of 15 yrs old...but he already has tween aged kids?
This artwork is so bizarre. It's pretty, don't get me wrong. The artist does a gut wrenchingly good job of portraying emotions and action scenes but at the same time almost all of the "good looking" people under 40 look like teenagers. Only those 45+ look appropriately aged.
STORY:
Cha Miso desperately wanted people to love, adore and cherish her and this is exactly what she gets. It took a few moments of excitement to get there but that's expected in this genre.
Unfortunately, she's so lost in her own trauma from her first lifetime that she never once, in the 50 chapters I've read, noticed that Charne, the OG!FL, is no longer beloved. This despite claiming fervently that Charne is her favorite character.
This all makes Cha Miso just seem very shallow. I feel horrible for Charne.
Charne is tolerated by the Etams because of her useful gifts and being blood related to them. That's it. Where once she was the undisputed treasure of Etam this role is now taken over by Cha Miso.
And Charne never once feels anything is amiss now? Because she's equally, absolutely charmed by Cha Miso/Eileen? So it's okay that she no longer feels the need to belong in her newly discovered family? Even though in the novel that Cha Miso read Charne wanted to be loved just as much as Cha Miso does?
I wish Erno Etam wasn't so All or Nothing when it comes to people he gives his heart too.
We're shown again and again and again how he's incredibly overprotective and vulnerable around Cha Miso/Eileen. He ignores his two sons and Charne.
This makes it feel like his love for Eileen is not only not real but fickle and easily snuffed out. It feels like he's still pretending as if he's in a play, taking on the role of "Father" as he did at the beginning of the story.
It's really frustrating to read. Just because Cha Miso exists as Eileen in this world for him to adore doesn't mean he can't give his other kids and Charne the same kind of smothering fatherly love.
Eileen can't catch a break in the new world either. It's very black and white.
Like with the other Duke dude who beat Erno to the adoption punch. He's not much better. He has zero fatherly or even familial love for Eileen. He only wanted to adopt her as a "pet" for his newly found son.
He does not see Eileen as a complete human being in her own right, with her own feelings and opinion. He'll do whatever his son wants and his son, being a literal child who doesn't know any better, wants to "own" Eileen because of a promise they made together that this kid misinterpreted...or willfully interpreted however he wants. So, he's going to do whatever it takes to become Eileen's father.
Such gross, ugly feelings to read about.
Also that bigoted asshole "Uncle Kruno".
If he wanted to punish himself he should just go do that far away in a corner somewhere. Go, get whipped until strips of skin are flayed off. Why not throw himself off a cliff while he's at it, if he wants to suffer so badly?
Don't take it out on everyone else around him. He's a fucking adult. Not to mention a priest. How dare he verbally and psychologically abuse a 10 year old child like that? Scum.
His trauma gives him zero excuses. I don't give a fuck. Eileen should have cracked him across the face at least once with her tail. I mean, he so desperately wants to hurt himself that he asked someone else to whip him bloody.
