156 Chapters + Prologue + 3 Side Stories (Complete)

I’m absolutely ENRAGED at how DUMB the FL’s mother is. She gets better as the story progresses, but I stand by my opinion. Artwork is great, storyline has promise, but it felt so slow to me. Too many chapters dedicated to petty behavior when it could’ve been wrapped up quicker.

If you are tired of melodramatic revenge plots with FL constantly suffering for an unworthy ML even in her second life, this would be a decent pick. For once the main character having solution for every situation didn't actually feel bad. The author executes it well and weaves it into the story without you thinking it's getting dumb /repetitive. She acts and reacts in a way that doesn't seem like the author pulled it out of her ass either. The romance is slow, but the plot is so fun to read so in my books this gets an 8. I'll add a thank you to the last two reviewers below @Pzcolo and @Utsukushii Yume for helping me get a needle in a haystack of generic and bland isekais.

This is certainly one of the better 2nd chance at life to get revenge. The arcs are presented orderly, the FL isn't overpowered for knowing the future and even expected changes to happen as she did things differently from her past life.
Her knowing the future isn't what makes her special to the ML, its actually her personality. She has weaknesses and strengths, she can stand on her own but needs to rely on others sometimes. She tends to use her brain instead of the story telling us how smart she is the author tries to show it through her patience, perseverance and calculating attitude.
The ML isn't to bad, he is ok playing the typical heartless war hero with a heart of gold only given to our FL. What the author does differently with him is give him a brain. He acts in a way not to hinder the plans of the FL while also assisting her more as an alley and less like a dependent. He still gets the many save the FL at the right moment scenes, but there are times he will not activate his ML plot armor so that the FL can handle things herself.
For the most part it makes for a decent story that puts in a decent amount of effort to acknowledge the rules placed on women of that time and focuses the plot on how the FL exacts revenge while playing within the rules.
Another cliched story about a young girl in ancient China that is betrayed by her relatives, there are at least 40 similar stories out there, so how does this one fare among this over exploited setting? Quite well actually.
To start with, all this stories have some sort of supernatural thing happen, the most common (over 75% of them) is transmigration of an ultimate female lead, which is quite dumb and boring imo. This one is on the second type of setting and the second most common one, she died and goes back in time, still kind of dumb but if used properly this only provides info so MC still needs to work for her food, and that's what happens here, MC doesn't miraculously gain medical skills or martial arts, she has to study medicine and based on a lucky encounter she attained by using her previous life experience. Simple but this kind of attention to consistency is not common and I like it.
Other than that, it's a slow story and it's still in diapers so there is very little to say, I keep getting annoyed at how the MC isn't more resolute in her actions but women in that era and setting were quite powerless, having a duche father makes things hard, it's a pity she doesn't want to stain her hands...
So, a good story so far making a proper use of a cliched setting that is usually muddled with conveniences. For those who care about proper development and justifications and for story consistency it's a good choice (so far).
Edit: Unfortunately it gets marred into a cycle, the same antagonists over and over. The MC put's their misdeeds in evidence so many times its annoying they are not done and over with. And the ML becomes more and more dislikeable, he cares little for the MC's will or her happiness. Add forced dramatic situations and the good points of the series progressively start to fade away. Other than an interesting FL there's not much left.
Maybe it'll get better again, but in my experience, when it starts going downhill it rarely gets better.
