The plot is like a bell curve with the Shibuya Arc being the best arc and everything kinda falls off compared to it. I binged read this after it was completed because everyone was saying that this shit was peak and the "next big 3" or whatever and it's just not. I think it had a lot of potential but near the end, things were obviously getting rushed with how everything was resolved and
Nobara coming back outta nowhere . I also think that the fights didn't really feel impactful near the end with ! Sukuna eating everything up like a cockroach and it seemed like nothing was affecting him, same thing with Yuji. Post fight too, everything was resolved a little bit too cleanly and no one gave a shit that THE Gojo died. . I also had difficulty following at some points cause they be yapping sometimes but that's just me. Read if you like, not missing much past the half way point tbh.

Idk why ppl are nagging here but it's by far the best battle shounen manga I read in past 10 years.
It's far better than shits like Naruto, Bleach, MHA, ... Someone mentioned HxH lol , oh god , stop mentioned that overrated over hyped boring shit HxH everywhere bcz no one asked or cared lol
I totally enjoyed it , it's never stop moving forward or slowed down which is a hard thing to do, always make me excited , amazing.

Like i can understand the people who enjoy this type of shiunen manga, and i might add the anime is greatly animated. However, if you came here for plot, honestly its mediocre. The dude eats fingers and gets powers, turns out there is a group that also try to look for said fingers and such, the characters are somewhat genric. Like they have sad backstories, but that doesnt make them instantly not generic.
Overall, i tried to read this, but the plot from what I had read was pretty generic compared to other battle shounens
Do you like deus ex machina? Asspulls? Characters having to hold the idiot ball to move the plot forward? Completely inscrutable character motivations?
It's too bad, this started out interesting, but has since become completely rote. Plus, the absolutely relentless pace of the narrative means nothing leaves an impact and there's no room to breathe.
well but that was only before I read the whole thing. The death game arc right now feels like out of place if I have to say. Mainly because this setup limit the free flowing fights that has dominated the story before. It also is something that doesn't strike me as something that fits the main villain's character. Also unlike how it was in HxH, things in JK feels forced in how the author explain the fights going, and sometimes I had trouble processing what actually happened. That aside, in of a shounen that relies heavily in it's combats, I think JK will deliver plenty and in that aspect it is not disappointing.
Edit: Some word about the Final Fight, unlike most who were upset with how it went, I was really satisfied (probably being a neutral helps, I was not really rooting for neither Gojo or Sukuna in particular). I think Gege handled it superbly, although I do think JJK has potential to go bit further. Still, ending it where it did was fine too.
P.S.:I was really impressed by the comedian's fight against Kenjaku, it was really fun!

Almost all shonen I have read had repititive concepts.
This one has it too. But the way it is done is truly great. Fights have great art style and they are very different from normal fights you see in shonens. The story is pretty cool. Overall, this is a very good read.
I changed by rating from 8 down to 5 in less than 10 chapters. Left off at 139, which was great. Shibuya battle is fun to read. Then they start this culling game arc? Edgy and ridiculous. Caught up to 240...yeah...nah.

I feel like this manga re-ignited my love for shonen manga. The characters all have unique and interesting personalities and abilities. Akutami even gave the characters their own unique/realistic reasons as to why they risk their lives to save others. Not every character is the stereotypical hero who wants to do everything the right way. I also appreciate that a lot of the female characters are reliable and strong on their own. Gojo is such an insane character.. crazy abilities. I took it lightly when he kept mentioning that he was the strongest sorcerer, but then he actually followed through. It's so refreshing when a character lives up to their title and just gets the job done. Seeing Itadori, Fushiguro, and Kugisaki develop through various encounters and learn from their losses was nice as well. This manga isn't perfect, but I think it's the start of a new era of shonen manga leaving the primitive storylines of past works.
