28 Volumes (Complete)

28 volumes is too long. I mean that's alright, but anyway I still think 8.7 is a bit over. It's probably almost that, maybe 8 even, but anyway.
Conclusion wasn't that great for me, there was plenty of time to develop yet I think there was way too much development open, some weren't even good. Ishigami (i think its the correct name?) had his hair prepared once and it looked great, probably one of the coolest characters I have ever seen even, surely of this whole manga too, but then it never repeats and the 1 time it does it's not as good, remains always with that lame hair over half his face lol. That's alright though but dude just gets rejected then he goes nowhere with Iino (is that her name right?)... I mean it did comply with the goal and description of this manga but well, I do prefer conclusions, but at least it wasnt much bitter as some mangas manage to do and ruin the whole thing just on a whim. Also, Iino was never told it was Ishigami who wrote that message to her, why not? Why not finish the thing that you started lol.
For me real vote would be 8 or 7, some points actually more but some others nowhere near. Also, I would say this manga is closer to Shounen perhaps, it's not really that grown/adult/realistic in my opinion. But I guess the original didnt have furigana so its seinen?
And well the author is male, a lot of things arent really realistic to the females perspective. I would say he nailed it, though, when Kaguya just suddenly rejected Shirogane once the situation got a little messy and her old "love interest" came around. Bitter taste on that, but at least there was some competition, better than nothing at all.
Dude just gets a lot of money out of nowhere too, there's no way reality goes like that. He also dreams of getting back his father's company? But isnt his father a rich youtuber now? He was even driving a Ferrari or something similar in the end.
It's male fantasy, with silly development. I mean it's an alright read. It's difficult to take it any serious though of course, it's just man's dream. Even the way Kei rejects her mom in the end is like a male's dream.
For male readers if you want the real deal in of romance, find something from a female author, they might not nail perfectly the male side but they definitely do with the woman's. If you want an actual Seinen or adult story, probably gotta find something else too.
Ah, was gonna comment on Fujiwara but dont want to be fatphobic, I just find it unrealistic that she would reject that dude and then say she dreams of dating a sumo wrestler, even if she's a joker lol. Seems just to please part of the readers. It's just manga anyway so I guess I should stop taking it serious. Getting immersed in 28 volumes does that maybe.
For last, a bit lame that they fight over the inheritance with the old man still alive, at least they were "honest"(?) in this regard, but they definitely should've spent more time with their father instead of just fighting over it then just waiting him die?? I mean, that's pretty damn shameful. But I guess it's not unusual.
Forgot: Kaguya inherited billions of dollars (considering currency conversion from yen) but she wants to be a photographer studying in an USA university? Going around like that? The whole thing made no sense, thinking about it. There is no way they would be able to burn that testament like that too lol. There is no way in hell their father would let his 4 children mess about like that. Alright, it's just manga, but I think a minimal sense of realistic view wouldn't bother for a manga that is meant to be for adults (Seinen)

I have nothing but praise for how this handles its main characters and story for a long time BUT the side characters are a mixed bag from the start with some being very interesting while others are boring whenever they get any pages. The comedy is excellent and in many cases sets up some very serious scenes, enhancing them and making them stand out.
After the first 14 volumes the author decides that they should focus a LOT more on the side characters favoring some of the least interesting ones and instead of giving them some sort of development that would make them more interesting they get developments that made me care less and less about them. Whenever the story does not center on those side characters the manga is still very entertaining for a while. The stories also become FAR more serious and the comedy of the first 14 volumes very rarely shows up again but is still top notch when it does.
Then around volume 20 anything that was of value is over. This is also the point where the author its they stopped trying to be funny. Most characters are now shadows of their former selves. The stories feel like a skit show deciding to put on an overly serious telenovela and being awful at it. The serious elements no longer stand out surrounded by humor, now everything is trying to be serious and while the story used to be brilliant for a comedy that same story is pretty poor for a serious drama ...
I regret sticking with this hoping it gets better again because it never does, I wish I dropped it after volume 14 or maybe 16

Despite (or because of?) regularly trolling the readers, Akasaka-sensei wrote one of the better series I've had the pleasure of reading. One of the easiest 10/10 manga for the characters, the story, and even the conclusion. The conclusion, most notably, actually takes more than two or three chapters and really wraps things up satisfyingly.
Much can be and is already said about this series, how it is an era defining work and elevated the genre to new heights. The first half of the series certainly lives up to and deserves all praise and Kaguya will continue to be referenced as an exemplary series in the coming years.
Alas, two flaws start to manifest in the second half. The author couldn't help but excessively focus on his self-insert character instead of developing the main characters' relationship. As the story wrapped up, the author clearly lost interest in the series, quite likely due to events in his personal life (see Vol 22 Extras).
The last chapter was good, the last few chapters before were definitely not.

honestly I loved it even more than I thought I would. I love all the characters, the humor is fantastic, and the mix between episodic chapters and the more serious plot progressing chapters is well balanced. Absolutely a 10/10.
while the main cast have gone near their respective goals (as ch 137), the others chara is explored and paired, like ishigami
others chara is still left as side kick like chika or the maid of shinomiya
i enjoy the read, until now it's still rosy highschool love comedy, hope won't go to others direction
the author good at keeping paces, so you won't get bored
plot somehow easy to predict, but also leaves many possibility... so bettet let it be... don't think too hard abou it
fair enough screentime for each main and ing characters. every characters are lovable... even for the most negative character
Currently, most of the characters’ backstories and personalities have been revealed and feels like it’s coming to a conclusion unlike other romance series like Nisekoi. It’s probably not going to end yet, but each chapter is very enjoyable and the humor is sharp and sometimes even meta.

I've read some reviews of people criticizing the fact that the premise of the manga kinda got lost after a while. While there's a bit of truth in that, it's for good reasons; this manga plays well with keeping the status quo without making it stagnating. The characters develop in an organic way, so it's just natural that their interactions change as well; but it doesn't happen all of a sudden, it's a slow and believable process. While the characters change, they never contradict who they are, and the comedy keeps being on point, just changing range from time to time. This way the manga has managed to stay fresh, when keeping the same formula all along would have killed it in the long run.
