Someone else commented, but it's hard to connect to a character. It goes too fast. Like way too fast... I am getting whiplash.
Well, start isn't good, but its improving gradually after she go to accademy. She is naive in some points, and too many times leads choose silence over really needed words, but they're smart in all other fields. And its satisfying in some way. Also i like that romance need almost whole story to develop.
I don't often hand out 1 ratings but I just couldn't continue reading this one. At first I was intrigued - the female lead has an interesting ability and then she gets betrayed as female leads often do and I was interested to see how her power would be her means of escape and such and such.
But then the male lead shows up and he's a piece of trash.
Possible plot spoilers ahead
I could maybe have got on board with him after he has some character development, realises he's trash and attempts to mend his past ways. But I couldn't read far along enough to see any character development happen. What really turned me off was the female lead's thoughts about the male lead.
First, she feels sorry for him. Erm, sure, I realise he's had it rough, but why should you feel sorry for the man who didn't have an ounce of concern for you and just decided to keep you as a slave for himself?
Next, she's asked by her brother what kind of person he is. He's been nothing but rude and cruel but she tells him she thinks he's 'kind'?
Erm, I don't think so. Now I can't stand the female lead either.

Decent setting, too bad I can't get interested in it, Since its doing a speedrun, going so fast i don't have time to care about what's going on, since all dialogues start having the same few short exchanges, whether it was with a servant or the prince / emperor (why is he even called emperor if he's got a mother and brother at the same or at times higher political ranking).
There's breaks in the fast pace with no interest- like a clothes washing and drying segment or a chat about the 'emperor' travelling for business, only to have him back in the immediate following segments...
Not to mention the completely terrible characters- some non-noble talks with the local Lord, the authority doesn't like them, so they sell to slavery? The empress demands to be served and abuses and humiliates for no reason? With the speed of the pacing I don't even know if i will ever see them again, so can't even hope for justice...
