5 Volumes (Ongoing)

I'm so confused by that tag. Not once in 25 chapters has it read like a reverse harem story.
Reviewed @ch12
It's a total waste of time.
It relies on tropes for its characters. There's no significant goal or development for 12 chapters.
It does nothing new.
None of the characters are interesting or explored well, even if we're given hints of some past...they again seem like cliche pasts.
There are parts where they discuss philosophy of classes...except nothing is actually said. I'm left thinking '...was that supposed to mean anything?' even read an alternative translation which cemented that no, nothing profound was shared that chapter.
There's pretty much no reason to read this story.
The art is good.
edit: skimmed ch16-20. Opinion remains. There's a little more substance, but not enough to be worthwhile at all.

One thing I look forward when reading angst is that, it needs to be painful in ways that will hurt the audience more. The only way I see that happening is exactly what happens in the manga. MC is scarred and she has her own troubles but she can't confide in anyone. However, everyone else has their own motivations that is unknowingly hurting her more which isn't their intention but I like to imagine, if they did, they'd feel hurt as well.
I'm just gonna snatch author's wig and pull it, if they gave us false hope.
i love this, i thought this will heavy but actually the story is light and ugh what a jerk father violet have here
This is a simple story following a girl trying to become a better person despite her family's continued negligence. She learns to appreciate the people that cherish her instead of focusing on appeasing those who refuse to care for her. Nothing revolutionary, but the art is nice and I dig the character interactions.
Not for someone expecting some amazing plot, it's purely a story of self-healing and love. I'm surprised that the ratings are so low, as while it obviously doesn't have some crazy twists or what, it has a lot of charm to it. I like that the original heroine is sweet and nice and similarly doesn't bother the MC. Above all, the MC has a pretty likeable personality, with her itting her past mistakes and genuinely reflecting upon them. I think the only area that is lacklustre are the other ing characters. Other than Yulan, they are all bland and dull with little substance. Yet, this manga touches upon self-reflection and atonement, which I really enjoy given that other reincarnation stories always have rude (but disguised as quirky and "strong" ) main characters with plenty of faults that they do not acknowledge. Though, once in a blue moon, the MC spouts some noble ideals which make absolutely no sense. Overall a decent read.
Plot: 8.5/10 premise of self-love, you're obviously gonna hate it if you expect some evil plot brewing and face-slapping that doesn't happen
Storyline: 6/10 very simple storyline, expresses the theme of self-love well, but falls short on the depictions of other characters and their value to the story. Some areas are also quite cringey and I found myself rolling my eyes at those scenes. For example,
the scene where the Litos Princess dropped her reptile book and MC started going on about being careful not to show the book in front of some people. I know the setting is supposed to be a time when women are typically "too dainty" to be interested in reptiles but I still find it a reach to be SO embarrassed about the book and for MC to have such a reaction. The story was initially an 8 for me but I minus-ed one point simply because there's a few scenes were MC pops out and spouts some "cool" lines that are actually quite cringe.
Art: 8.5/10 really pretty art
Overall: 7/10

Usually in these villain stories, whenever the villain turns good, then the heroine is made into the villain. But that doesn't seem to happen here. There are only 12 chapters out, but it doesn't seem like the author is trying to swap their roles (at least not yet). The roles can still easily be swapped do to all the disadvantages the heroine has, but I just thought it might be interesting to see the author not follow that route.
