Yuri Shibuya was living a pretty normal life. That changed the day he was dunked into a toilet after an attempt to save a classmate from a gang of bullies. Instead of just getting a good soaking, he's pulled in. The next thing he knows, he's in a world that vaguely resembles medieval Europe. If that's not odd enough, he's told that he is to be the next Maoh, just because he has black hair and black eyes. The Maoh is the King of the Mazoku, who are coexisting not-so-peacefully with the humans in this world. Much to his subject's dismay, he's totally different from the rulers they're accustomed to. He's kind, considerate, a believer in justice, and not willing to use violence to solve conflicts. Not exactly someone they want running a country on the very brink of war. Now, Yuri has to deal with trying to become a good Maoh, while at the same time attempting to adapt to this land's customs and culture, all in a world where the tension between the humans and Mazoku is reaching its peak. 6h3q6v
21 Volumes (Complete)

Inconsistent plot and characters, way to many plot holes, the writer doesn't care about anything other than fujo-pandering. It tries way too hard to be witty with Murata and Saralegui towards the end but horribly fails at it only coming out as cringy. Art towards the end is pretty bad. Wolfram is honesty the worst character and they messed up everything trying to bring him in the spotlight.
if you go onto manga park ull see it
someone should update the chart thing
anyways, its a read definitely worth it, but i think the anime may be better
Well,
We will never catch up with the anime since the anime isn´t base on the novels nor the manga. this manga version is based on the novel until volumen 16 (novel 7). It´s confusing, yeah.
The anime is "not really" based on anything, it´s pretty much as naruto with all those chapter that don´t really exist.
I highly recommend you the novel though.
EDIT: Ugh, so the manga ends with a rather lacklustre finale. Wish there is more but cest la vie. I wish the original light novels was fully available in english but that is a near impossible chance. Ah well guess this franchise is yet another one that will forever be incomplete in my view 🙁
Art work is nice, story is fun and interesting, and it has good comedic elements.
Now to the minor nitpicks I have: The scanlators have apparently a long way to go before catching up with whatever chapters continue the story after the anime's end. I'm not telling them to rush or whine about them being slow/lazy etc; rather I appreciate that they are continuing this series after a major hiatus on translations. But for people who have watched the anime, us folks have a long time to wait before we can get our fix of plot progression.
So my advice is, if you've never watched the anime then start on this manga with glee. As for the missing chapters, that's were the anime can help. The latter can also let you progress through the storyline while waiting for the manga scans to progress. The downside to that is that once you've finished the anime, you're stuck in the same boat as me.

If you like the anime, you'll like it more!
you can read volume 1-7, vol 9. and volume 11 chapter 59 in mangtraders. and don't worry, The scanlating group Onadoru Euphoria will continue the rest volume (they said it to me).
There's no big difference between season 1 and the manga (till vol 9), but it had some side story that never aired on anime. since the anime messed up with the original story since season 2, the manga will follow the storyline of the novel. Because of it, be prepared with the angst story.. Oh.. vol 10 had a story about Conrad brought Yuuri's soul to earth, Yuuri & Shouri's childhood that DIFFERENT from the anime.
Btw, The art and the char designs is great!

This sounds like it could be a good series to get into but, sadly there is no point getting into it until the rest of the chapters are avaliable as no-one seems to have ed chapters 25 through to 47.
I have not watched yet the anime but after reading the manga I am definitely gonna watch it.
The manga is great. The plot original and nice. The art gorgeous. The characters are awesome (especially Yuuri and Wolfram) and there are lots shonen-ai hints which is awesome personally ^^ This is what makes this manga/anime so special and different from other shoujou, action, adventure manga/anime.
If shonen-ai doesn't bother you, I recommend this manga to you. It is very enjoyable.
I <3 this manga! It's funny and soooo interesting!
It is so interesting compare to the other mangas, I mean other mangas has plots like a portal to another world but in this manga...Yuuri found the portal to another world when he got his head dunk in the toilet. He went from a weak student in Earth to become one of the greatest king of the other world. Yuuri stepped into a world he doesn't know and was forced to become the Demon King even though he doesn't like to be evil. Yuuri is an one of the kind characters, his justice, and how the way he acts is unique~ The strange world has many strange customs, for example if you slap someone..it'll be considering that you're proposing to that person, how strange and funny is that?~ Not to mention the art is incredible~ BISHIES!

WTF? I'm so glad I don't know... such narrow-minded people. I'm sure you didn't comprehend "Much to his subject's dismay". In my opinion it sounds a lot like "Demon Diary" and promises refreshing hilarity.
I haven't checked it out yet because I don't like "another world" stories that much, but maybe once there is more time.
