MC is stubborn and rude to a ridiculous degree. Probably stemming from her days of being an international top thief, she has shaky morals, thinks she's intitled to anything she lays her eyes on, and has an uncomfortable love of revenge. ...But seriously, she's way too confident all the time. She never shows weakness, and she's always eager to fight. You'd think these are good qualities to have in a fighting manhua like this, but somehow, i find her to be really annoying. She's really OP. Too OP.
The author of the story tries to give her character depth in the novel, but to me, the attempts failed.
I've read 347 chapters (ish), and so far, the plot's been pretty bad. I've noticed that there's a pattern: MC goes outside at a random time, she finds out some super secret secret, then someone tries to beat MC up / kill her / try to take her money away etc, and then with the help of her only maid, Dongling, she is always able to escape it, and the plot against her fail. Some random person from Xiao family or the Royal Family is usually the culprit, they get beat / other punishment, and as always, this person gets away and swears vengence upon MC.
The opponents of MC are always really stupid. Especially her family, the Xiao Family. I don't want to go into detail, since that would be spoiling, but they are seriously ridiculously stupid.
Not only is this world, a cultivation world, really ruthless and materialistic, but MC doesn't exactly...do anything.
So her new body, Princess Huang Beiyue, was a poor soul who'd been bullied by of Xiao Family for her shy nature and lack of talent. How does MC remedy this, you might ask. How does she fight back, and teach these guys, who hurt an innocent little girl to death, a lesson? By beating them up in various ways, and then exposing her many talents that she inherited from her former life. 😕 What does this prove? It proves the evil Xiao people right. They haven't, and won't, learn their lesson ever, because even if MC tortures them to death, they won't be like: "Oh snap, I shouldn't have bullied a little defenseless girl, that's messed up, I've suddenly learned my lesson!" No. They will be like: "Beiyue was surprisingly talented, but since I'm a rich spoiled kid who has never dealt with any sort of hardship before, getting beat by Beiyue is an insult to my name, and that's why I have to kill her even though she's a favored Princess..."...
Especially Xiao Yun (MC's half sister), Concubine Qin and Concubine Xue live way longer than you'd think...they are literally like cockroaches, always saying the same stuff about avenging themselves because they were wronged by Beiyue, but then Beiyue always knows their plan, and makes their pain worse.
Also, like 7 guys are after her...what's up with that😕
Oh, and the chapter where she's at school and Third Prince Jing's fiancee challenges MC to a duel...that arc was hilarious...
The writing was so bad. Like, the fiancee wasn't a good fighter, and she did try to cheat, but then MC turns around and controls the horse with her eyes, so the horse begins to throw off the fiancee and starts to violently stomp on the girl's body (i think she died, i dunno. You'd be surprised how many people MC kills nonchalantly...even her love interest, Prince Yi, straight up witnesses her killing someone in cold blood, and he's all like, 'Beiyue, You're so interesting'...nani
