Cliche to cliche, all the way! A Mary Sue protagonist (and to boot!), tsundere ML, jealous sisters, court intrigues, female impersonating a male, secret identities, Emperor who is against the pairing of ML and FL, crazy concubines, warring princes... ARGH! Seen it all!
There is not really anything to recommend this. in the beginning, the bickering between the FL and Ml kept me reading, and after some time, I just wanted to finish it and wasn't ready to give up more than half way, but it was a bit difficult. After the bickering stops, there was nothing special to hold my interest... And the art level simply degrades with type, shame since the ML had such great eyebrows and they literary tamed them into same old boring eyebrows!
All in all, not a rec.
Typical strong independent female who acts more like a douche bag than an actual human being. The FL is a Marysue. The entire world was created just so the author can showoff how amazing and talented this FL is, and despite her doing nothing more than literally insulting almost everyone she meets, everyone shall fall madly in love with her so called "free independent spirit."
I've seen worst stories, this story feels like it wants to be interesting and fun, but it falls flat because the author is so insistent on telling us what they want to happen instead of letting the characters personalities decide how it happens. A lot of things feel forced to happen because author said so and less because of the actions of the characters.
For example, the FL first helps the ML b.c he is bleeding. His bleeding will never be mentioned again, you won't know where on his body or how he got the wound. He was poisoned but you will never know how. How did his bleeding stop, and how deep was the wound that the FL was able to notice the blood, was it even his blood? The world will never know. In fact there won't even be blood anywhere on his skin or clothes b.c the whole "oh no he is bleeding" bit was just a trigger device the author used to get the FL and ML to meet. Once they meet the bleeding no longer matters and the author completely forgets to address it again, not even after 31 chapters in does any of that get addressed.
