Hi!So since I'm still fairly new to mangaupdates I have been checking out what the site has to offer to get to know it 🙂 4b3048

A thing that stumped and confused me however was this page: https://mangaupdates.sitesdebloques.biz/genres.html

This page says that the database has, as of now, 18762 titles for the genre "action",

however when I go to this page:
https://mangaupdates.sitesdebloques.biz/series.html?genre=Action&perpage=100
it says that it maximum shows up to 10,000 titles for the genre "action"

This seems to mean that 8,762 titles aren't showcased (?)

Is there a reason for this or is it merely a bug?

And if by chance I want to know the remaining titles not shown, is there a way for me to see them in another way?

this doesn't really answer your question, but if you don't know already, you could try searching more effciently by narrowing down your search results through "advanced search" and search by your preferred categories/tags and genre/s instead of needing to personally go through 10000 action manga. imagine if you want the action manga to have only have the "Revenge" tag or "Isekai" or "Transported to Another World" tags, then advanced search would be useful and narrow down your results.

It's that way because of bots overloading servers or something, your best bet is combining genres, listing the view to 100 or more, and systematically going down it that way. Like fantasy shoujo x romance then sci fi shoujo x fantasy x romance, etc

It doesn't go past a certain page number on purpose. I personally wish we had more fields to search through such as number of volumes, date of publication, publisher, publication, etc

this is also probably something you know, but i found through reading through previous forums here, that by writing &year=xxxx (in the url) could also help narrow the search down. a downside to it however is that i found quite a few titles without a given year so those will probably still be lost in the narrow down stage, oh well.

i gotta say though, there are alot of categories/tags to choose from, but i'll give it a shot so thanks so much for your suggestion and for replying back!

ooh combining genres sounds like a great idea, i'll give that a shot!

as a tip, don't search with the "female protagonist" or "male protagonist" tags because they're new tags that numbers only to about 2000 when there are obviously much more manga on here. feel free to add those tags yourself for series that you see that don't have those two tags if you want. enjoy.
