Not saving after hours of play. /sigh... I couldn't bring myself to continue the game afterwards. 661b6z

Mine was in Final Fantasy VII.. I failed that game right at the beginning, when I was walking through the factory and then got to the point where you had to find switches to open the doors. So I looked everywhere on that level for a switch, fought endless monsters but still couldn't find it and gave up. Now, two years later I start talking about the FF games with a friend of mine and when I told him about my problem, he was just like.. "Wait, the switch was right next to that door..." I felt pretty stupid when I heard that.. 🤣

Not knowing where to save besides save points and after having to repeat over hours of gameplay over and over until someone told me that I could save elsewhere. And also doing recon but accidentally fell off a cliff and restarting gameplay from hours ago.

When I was a kid, I was playing this Zelda game. In the very beginning, there is a voice calling for you from the basement. However, the door leading to the basement is locked, so you have to pick up one of the pots/urns and throw it against the door. Being a kid, I just loved the destroying the pots. So I figured I would destroy the two pots, leave the room, and destroy the pots again for fun. Well, I broke the pots against the floor. When I tried to leave the room, the game wouldn't let me until I went to the basement. So, I didn't have any pots left to destroy the door, and I couldn't leave the room. In the end, I had to start from the beginning, which wasn't a big deal except I really hated myself for my stupid obsession with breaking pots.

In Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor, I chose to save a guy from some shitty demon instead of saving a damsel in distress...
and then save over the previous state (meaning I can't go back to when I still had the choice)
I feel like such a fag now >_<

In FFXII, I accidently kept unlocking treasure chests that are connected to the Zodiac Spear, now due to the fact they're open, I can't get the Zodiac Spear - the strongest weapon in the game anymore...dammit.
Oh, and also trying to face off against the Hell Wyrm, at the time, I had no idea how much HP it had. My eyes practically popped out of my eye-sockets looking at all of it. Anyways, I tried to go in the hallway to heal myself (my guidebook says you can), and, alas, the damn door wouldn't open XD.
Hmm...I can't think of anything else, besides the RARE HUNT - which you kill Rare Monsters, get trophies and then give them to one of three Bangaa - so I could give them 30 trophies to I could get the strongest prize. Well, I stupidely gave the other two trophies, so the highest I can go now, is like 25...I'm an idiot.
Infinite Undiscovery, in Normal Mode.
I stupidly went to forward to Halgita before I learned Mare Lunaris again. Augghhh, now all my characters keep getting turned into vermiforms due to the lunar rain, FFFF----!.
So yeah, I keep on dying now, it sucks.

I barely ever saved.
Like, once at the start of each day. I really needed more save slots in the game.

In FFX I reached the part where you are supposed to use Shiva... but since you had to scroll down to use Shiva and there wasn't anything saying you COULD scroll down I didn't use Shiva.
The whole point of the damn battle was to use Shiva.
You used Shiva Simon would crumple into dust before you.
Didn't use Shiva Simon would absolutely kick you ass no matter what.
I trained. For months. It was bad.
I tried complaining to my friend and suddenly he said "Have you used Shiva?"
Facepalm.
At least I was nicely leveled after that and didn't have to do too much training for a while.

I play on a GBA emu so I don't have any instruction manuals, I didn't realise that I could save and refill all my health by pres in save rooms in Castlevania:AoS and HoD, so I ground to level 40 in AoS before facing Death (who is the game's halfway boss) because I would keep running out of potions by his second form (damn you clock tower spikes and Medusa Heads)
I skipped the tutorial in No More Heroes and spent 30 minutes swinging my wiimote like an idiot whilst getting smashed by mooks before realizing that the A button was attack.

I was playing Bully in one big sitting...left it on pause for a bit while I went to the store. Came back conveniently right after a blackout. Played through over half the game without a single save, only to lose it all thanks to a crappy blackout.

Oh gah, I was playing Kingdom Hearts and I was really bad frustrated because everything was so dark. Especially on the beach at night at the very beginning and Wonderland. I couldn't see where I was going and I got really enraged over the fact that anyone would make such a dark game!
I quit, but then a few months later I started playing it again for the heck of it and it dawned on me:
I could adjust the brightness on my TV!
It worked like a charm. Wow, did I feel like such an idiot. XD

There is one place that is even worse than that -- FFXII, I believe it was at the Tomb of Raithwall -- well it was at one of the dungeon-like places. I kept on getting lost (i.e. running around in circles) until I finally decided to use the damn map (which made me realize I was running around in circles) there was a postive thing to come out of it, though, I got over a 50-chain because there were so many zombies around, but I digress.
But yeah, changing the brightness on TV's works,...sometimes...XD.
