I think that tag is only there because Ren was the "second" male lead to be introduced to the audience (the first being Shou). The second comes from the order of being named.

Hopefully that lessens some of your anger.

That Tsuruga-shi definitely is (considering the differing amounts of "screen time" among other things). It would be better to describe this manga as "First Love Interest Loses" (since Shou was her first love), but I don't think there's a tag for that. That said, I'm not sure that Shou can be considered a lead character.
