I know i'm not the only one who's marvel at Musashi killing trained samurai with just a wooden stick.......c'mon now, lets dicsuss, what are your thoughts on Vagabond?... what are your thoughts on Musashi, or Matahachi, or Otsu, or that deaf guy......haven't read this in a while so i dont quite remmember....but yeah, feel free to leave your input on anything related to Vagabond 325s2r

Personally, I've seen quite a few anime/manga where the main character fight/meet Musashi. This manga is really the first that I've seen that dealt with Musashi's life and such. It's sorta refreshing. I like it; it's good ol' samurai action with blood and gore (gore not so much). As for Musashi, himself, I like his character. He got that lone-wolf thing going and actual character development. Then Matahachi... I like to think of him as the Sasuke of Vagabond, iunno if you guys can view it the same way. He betrayed Musashi, (in comparison to Naruto) who always viewed Matahachi as a friend. Then he ran off with a woman and leaving the woman that loves him, Otsu (Sakura.. kinda). Simply put, he's a character one would love to hate. As for Otsu, I don't find her to be very prominent in providing an actual push to the story's progression, but more like a love interest for Musashi to add some romance to the manga.

@ LNC...i agree with you 100%.....usually in samurai mangas or animes in general it dosent really do a good job of depicting the characters actual life......it's just heres this battle....then heres some episodes or chapters in between the next big battle....but what i like most about Vagabond is the fact that it shows nearly every aspect of Musashi's life....not just focusing on his fights, and also....it really has great character devolpment........specially if you're caught with the manga, and you look at how Musashi is now, compared to when it first started... as well as Matahachi and even Otsu, they've all developed differently and realistically as well
but on another note.....i understand Matahachi's a scumbag after everything he did...but, is it just me or is hard to hate the guy, i really cant help but root for him?

I'm really looking forward to the final battle between Musashi and Kojirou. The legend write that Musashi won by using some clever strategy. Maybe Takehiko Inoue will make his own version of their battle?

WOW! I really love this manga. It has everything and I really love all its characters. I'm waiting anxiously for the next release.
Which reminds me, anybody knows how often Inoue-sensei releases Vagabond?

the reason its so vivid and wonderful is its actually based off his life using actual records of what happened via stories ed down books written about musashi and of course musashi's own book of 5 rings which u can find online here http://www.samurai.com/5rings/ and yes musashi is was and always will be that much of a bad ass lol
The last remnant of chivalry and a romantic till the end....too bad most people hate my sense of humor hahaha

Dude... there's nothing to discuss.... everyone know this manga is as epic as the universe.... end of story..... yeah, it does stumble over itself a bit, but you hardly see such consistent quality over 20+ volumes.

I completely agree with gan17. There's nothing to discuss. What are we going to do, criticize a masterpiece? Yeah, we can all frolic about how awesome this is and whine about when the next chapter will be released... but that's done enough at other places around the web already.
But, since I'm talking about Vagabond already anyway.... =) This is the first time I've seen such a long manga that doesn't feel long at all. In fact, I wish it was even more detailed than it already has been, just so I could have more to read! On second thought though, shouldn't mess with masterpiece.

manga's wayyy to seroius sometimes like the Holy Bible , i have to have stand-up comedians on the tv next to me to read it.
