A very good manga: it's a solid piece about sport and personal growth.The narration is very slice of life and down to earth, but it never bores: it's like a steady flow. Trough the trainings, the torunaments and various sublots we see the progression in skill and in character of Meguru going hand to hand with the exploration of the secondary characters' lives, who each possess their own voice... 4o1k6l
Real is nothing shot but brilliant and is Inoue's best, more mature work. The art is as always, amazing, but it's not the protagonist like in Vagabond, instead it's essential and functional to the storytelling.

Like some have said, it isn't overtly realistic in some instances, but overall is an enjoyable and original story.
The main appeal is the protagonist who is well, completely different from other standard female characters: she's aloof and kinda an asshole, but is also rather observant and cool headed. Some parts hint to an accident happened in the past, which may or not may have caused her...
This manga is amazing. If you find it boring, go read some shonen manga. Inoue takes a philosophic, naturalistic approach to describe Musashi's growth and tribulations to find what it truly means to be strong.
The art is mangificent and helps to convey the feeling of a realistic and historical accurate atmosphere.
