Skip Beat is one of the few mangas I've read that deals with acting. The only other one I've found that's on a par with it is Glass Mask. It's nice to see that the acting isn't side-lined or forgotten about as happens in mangas.I happily reread parts of this manga time and again; I never get tired of them. But recently, I feel like the quality of this manga has decreased. There are parts that don... 4uuo
I couldn't agree more with Rennov.
A lot of people, after ToG became popular, started complaining that it's a rehash of fantasy elements seen in other mangas; I would argue that it, in actual fact, is not, but the logic which equates this irrevocably with a bad manga is beyond me anyway.
The author knows exactly where this story is going. He is not pulling tricks out of the hat or grabbing at...
To be honest, I feel that a kind of injustice is being done to this manga with the comments. I suppose it depends on what you're looking for in manga, but in a detective/mystery manga I expect and am looking for mysteries that are solved. QED delivers this and there's no big fuss about anything.
Don't judge this by the first (couple of) chapter(s). I'm reading both saijou no meii and this. TMD gives a more realistic and gritty approach to the japanese medical system than the other and explores the politics that drive the system. I can only hope that this continues as it has for the past 60 chapters and does not become another disappointment...
I tend not to write comments until the end of a series, but there was one thing that annoyed me in this manga.
It was the Aunt's reaction to Shuri telling her about what happened in her past. Although I'm sure the Aunt was trying to get Shuri to be strong, telling someone who feels like they've been raped they just have to put up with it and move on with life? Obviously Shuri needed to get her...
I can't say much just yet. The beginning I found quite compelling to read, this season is very mysterious. My only complaint is that it is a little disted at time, such as characters springing up and you don't know how they got there.
I wish this had been tagged with "showbiz" earlier because then I could have read it sooner!
Red is captivating while you read but once the suspension of disbelief is broken it leaves something wanting. The mangaka rushes through the beginning and set-up of why Becky Lynn left her home town - the story is there but the characters are not. This habit of having one dimensional characters persists...
Yep, if I had to describe these oneshots in a word, it would be refreshing. I especially liked that the first story was about a couple who were already going out, and the ending of the second was nice and realistic, and quite unusual for shoujo as well. Well worth the time, I only wish some of these stories were a little longer!
