A classic. Anyone who reads manga knows this manga. And even people who don't read manga know what 20th Century boys is! As usual Urakawa develops a world with loads of interesting and diverse characters yet manages to tie all their plot lines up neatly. 5b4b5w

Personally I thought 21st Century Boys was unnecessary (or should've been added to 20th Century Boys).

Great interesting thriller. The mystery is well-written and keeps you wondering. Both of the main characters are likable. The side-characters, while not of much significance, are memorable enough that you who they are 3 chapters later. A bit sad that it's so short. I think it could have gone for one more volume but it's good to know when to end your manga. The art is phenomenal, as...

Before you know it this korean webtoon will have wormed its way magically into your heart. It has a lot of charm, and I'm not even talking about the amazing characters yet. The ing is creative but meaningful! It is structured in a way that enhances the storytelling. The message that the manga is trying to convey is simple yet at the same time powerful. To be a functioning adult in society do...

This is basically a Romeo & Juliet story. Only difference is that it takes place in Feudal Japan, and that the characters have some crazy ninja skills. If you like stories with a tragic ending due to a love that was never meant to be, then I definitely suggest you read this.

What I also find great about this manga is how these characters are actually all reasonable and nice people. As long as you...

A gripping tale that spans several countries, time periods and characters. You thought a story about mangaka would be boring or uneventful? Think again. As Urasawa uses his trademark thriller style to spin this tale you won't be able to stop reading. The way the characters and plot threads come together is once again a testament to Urasawa's talent.

As far as gender benders go Inside Mari is one of the more realistic ones. Komori's actions do feel like how one would act if they woke up with a girl's body, though out of respect & iration for her he restrains any perverted desires. When it comes to the atmosphere the entire story has an underlying current of dread. Something feels off, but Komori (& the reader) don't know what it is. As it...

The story keeps you interested from the start, and it has a special charm to it that makes you want to read the next chapter. As this is an adequate mystery the puzzle pieces slowly start to fit together in a natural way. The superpowers tie in well with the story in a realistic way, as if it could actually happen.

The characters are fleshed out and not one-dimensional. The ones in the center are...

Following the lives of dysfunctional teenagers/early-twentiers coming to grips with love and sexuality has always been a weak spot for me. I really like the cast, and every one of them feels fleshed out and their complexes/insecurities thoughtfully examined. Definitely recommended

Tsutomu, as expected, does a good job creating a unique, charming afterlife setting but the manga isn't really about that. It's spiritual but the core of the story is the characters with a message about nuclear power and life.

The two leads, Riyon & the Prime Minister, carry the story. Their bond is one-of-a-kind and throughout the manga they develop a genuine fondness for each other in a father...

The story doesn't have an epic overarching narrative but rather focuses on a case-by-case basis. It makes for a nice read, and you can take a break then pick it back up again without feeling terribly lost. The characters are nice, especially the MC duo. They have such great chemistry with each other. And it has one of the sweetest endings.

Touching manga revolving around people, young impressionable teenagers who are trying to grow up with a few stumbles along the way. The one-shot was good enough so at first I wasn't sure why it should be expanded upon but now that it's finished I can say that having KnK serialized brought a lot of depth to the story. You learn to love the characters who each have their ugly & beautiful sides. The...

This story has a unique unsettling way of making you think something is wrong but you can't quite put your finger on it. The cute character designs contract nicely with this ominous atmosphere. Being entirely full-color makes it stand out and the short length makes for a brief entertaining read.

Great bittersweet romance that deals with adolescent love adeptly. Hanabi is a great thoughtful female MC whose character is immensely developed. Each character gets their own shine. Though Moca could've benefited of some more and definitely Kanai-sensei. The strong core cast of this story are Hanabi, Mugi, Akane and Ecchan. The art is delicate yet pretty.

It's interesting because I didn't like Dead Tube (by the same author) because it was too try-hard in its depiction of horror and despair. But this one actually finds a good balance. It features gore but it doesn't relish in it, and the characters feel more human. The MC is steadfast and not a pushover, he comes over as genuinely caring. I like the trope of a bitch playing up the role of a cute...

One of the better younger male / older female romances around, though certainly not a conventional romance. The characters are written with care and the sketch-like quality of the art gives a comfy nostalgic feeling.

Quirky, amusing short stories which Dowman Sayman excels at. Most of them revolved around some theme related to death. So if you like dark humor you're going to love this. The characters are also varied & interesting and no short story is alike, each deserving of a full serialization.

Generally being a fan of NisiosiN's writing I liked this story. The art is surprisingly good too. The leads make for a good duo, and the subtext between them is a nice touch. At first glance it seems like they just have a detective-assistant relationship but there's definitely more going on.

A captivating tale about a young capricious girl eager to grow up and do all the fun, cool things adults do. Clearly this is accurate to how most young children view adults. Ran is a likable girl and it's hard not to fall for her at first sight. You can tell she comes from a loving family and we get to see the cozy home she was lovingly raised in. Her family are warm & kind people, and asides from...

A tragic story about how a boy stumbles upon a dark side of the world he didn't know existed. Hirota, the MC, gets turned into a monstrous familiar by Miwako, someone belonging to the blood race. She's one of the four originals (a group of sisters), though only one other sister (Tamaki) gets featured prominently.

The art is great. Definitely intended for mature audiences, gore + nudity. The...

The characters are developed and they are more than their sexual identity. They have personalities. And they face issues that people in the LGBT community sometimes face. The ending was only a tiny bit abrupt but all in all pretty good. It could have lasted one more volume but 4 volumes was plenty. The art is good too, and I enjoyed Kamatani's previous work Shounen Note as well, so I can't wait...

I hear this is based on the Arc route of the game. A good adaptation that showcases the interesting characters well. This is how every adaptation should be. It should be able to stand on its own.

A nice mix of stories about the afterlife with gatekeeper Izuko as our guide. The strength of this manga is that it offers a variety of characters with their own unique circumstances. Izuko mostly reacts to them in an impartial manner, as that is her duty. Nonetheless sometimes a sliver of humanity manages to squeeze through her cool facade.

It's nothing outstanding but still worth a read, and...

This is Mizukami's best work yet, and this story makes great use of multiple protagonists. Even though they're technically the same, being reincarnations and all, they all have their distinctive personalities. The writing is gripping and with each reincarnation we get to know more about the overall story. Some of these reincarnation stories pack a real emotional gut punch.

Immensely cute romance story with no contrived additional love interests. It only focuses on two characters' interest in each other. It's not solely romance but also suspense. Yuuko is one of the most charming female leads in manga, and I have to hand it to Maybe (who comes from a Hentai background) to create such a captivating manga. Asides from the fluff he actually makes some interesting school...

Tokyo Ghoul begins and ends with Ken Kaneki. There are countless of intriguing subplots & characters with distinctive motives all in the backdrop of a macabre urban Tokyo. But at the end what lies at the heart of the story is its protagonist. We come to know about Kaneki, learn to like him and understand his struggle. This is a journey that details a young man entering a world previously unaware...

Another interesting work from Ms. Takemiya. I'm a big fan of her writing and pleased with every new work she starts. This one is no exception. A decent MC with two charming female leads resulting in an interesting love triangle. The ending is left open but that's up for the reader to interpret what follows next.

You don't have stories about playing card games that aren't aimed at kids often so this was refreshing. This story is very much so focused on the playing-cards aspect so you have to be for that. The MC is cute and has an interesting backstory involving her mother.

Can't help but smile after that epilogue. I really like the characters in this. Anyways, this is a good high school romance manga focusing on the forbidden love in that setting, student-teacher relationships. Credit to this story is that they don't actually date while they're students. The friendship between the four main girls feels real & heartfelt. The romance plotlines varies in quality. I...

Well-written mystery/thriller and treats its LGBT characters with delicateness. A honest thoughtful look on what it means to be transgender. Narratively the pacing was on point. It was neither rushed nor slow. The arcs naturally tied into each other. The art is also pleasant to look at.
