In 2021, Harry Makito, genius magician, was holding a one time only retirement show in Tokyo when he burned to death in an unexpected accident. He was 17 years old. Or so one would think. But he lived, finding himself transported 400 years earlier in Medieval Europe during the age of the Witch Trials! Now he fights against the church which unjustly brands women as witches with his tricks disguised as miracles. It's like real magic! 1r2c62

It follows a formula reminiscent of Dr. Stone. A guy from a more advanced time blows primitive people's minds with modern techniques/knowledge, and while sometimes making villainous faces or saying something selfish he actually has a heart of gold. The art is fine, it has good humor, there's a good variety of interesting skills in the main cast, and it has some wholesome moments. I found myself excited to see what the next magic trick was going to be, only occasionally having to suspend disbelief a tad.
I'm really glad I found this. It's too short, I want to read more! The last page says these 31 chapters were only "part 1", but it kinda felt like it got axed to me...Even then, it was wrapped up in a satisfying way and I recommend you give it a read.
Was looking forward to seeing the fifth witch and the series ends. At least according to sinxer under me this is only a part one, like Chainsaw Man. Looking forward to the part two.
