From Yen Press:“Hey! Wake up! Wake up already!” Second-year high school student Yogiri Takatou was enjoying a peaceful sleep on the bus during his class trip, when suddenly he was shaken awake by the class beauty, Tomochika Dannoura. But rather than the bittersweet development he was hoping for, he instead opened his eyes to the bus being destroyed and the bodies of his classmates lifeless on the floor. Messy and all over the place

The issue is not the OP MC, after all, there are lots of overpowered MCs out there like One Punch Man and Solo Levelling, but rather the execution of it.

Granted there are still some limits to the MC's powers, it shouldn't be this messy. But I have absolutely no idea why there are so many types of powers so early on in the story, and what the heck is going on. Dropped at chapter 13 because it's absolutely messy and a waste of time to understand.

Come on, you can copy from other series or make some stupid superpower but at least make it coherent, just throwing all these ideas together and some ecchi and doomsday setting isn't going to make the story interesting.

It's ongoing at volume 9, pretty amazing.

Starts off with potential but does nothing interesting with it

Despite the intriguing start this is absolutely awful.

Unlike things like One Punch Man this manga only re it's a comedy once or twice a volume after vol 1 (which is by far the best one)

The biggest problem is that it constantly wastes your time by spending a ton of pages to explain things which do not matter because the people involved get killed and their plot threads and all the setup and explanations of their power are retroactively worthless. Those deaths are very rarely funny or satisfying in any way.

The main character becomes more and more hypocritical and inconsistent as the story goes on although he's tolerable until volume 5.

For the record I stopped reading after volume 6.

Go read a random isekai and 8 times out of 10 it'll probably be better than this one (primarily because this one is awful, not because the others are good)

OP without being bland

I hate OP MC, I really do. Modern manga is full of these OP MC, and if we read shoujos full of OP ML! They always have to be the best without even trying, and I'm super bored.

However, just like One Punch Man, I'm not bored with this OP MC simply because the story doesn't revolve around how awesome the MC is. It's all the other characters around the MC that make the story interesting.

Of course, the MC is also interesting. Because we are in the journey to find out what he... or 'it' actually is. And that's exciting.

You are already dead

Nani?!

Imagine a world filled with liars, murderers, and generally terrible people. No, not Earth, I mean slightly worse.

Well, let's avoid saying these folks have no principles. They do. It's just that their principles revolve around who not to kill rather than who deserves death. If you think about it, wouldn't a planet filled with overpowered magic be just like that? It makes sense from a cultural standpoint.

So, our MC gets summoned there. Did I mention he's the worst of 'em? Yeah, he is. This guy has a power suite that makes Onepunch Man look cute. Little bit less, uh, patience, though. A few times he murders everyone because that's more convenient than trying to figure out who's the bad guy.

hint: it's usually both sides, so he's not wrong...

In modern manga, it can be said that killing is quite common, whether it be monsters or humans. This manga takes it up to 11 without becoming edgelord. It's not for everyone, that's for sure, but it fills that satire niche, so - just like the main character might say when offing bandit #290378209... Heh, why not?

Mediocre

The story of a sociopath (the ones with disregard for life in general) in an isekai were people coming from another world are psychopaths or as him sociopaths. That's the premise really so if that tempts you then this one is for you. The disregard for human life and life in general in this story is not easy to digest, and it's done in a sort of comic fashion with the sidekick making puns about the kills at times... the author himself must be a sociopath.
There are some redeeming points as the MC killing could be seen as him not having any other power than insta-death so no other option to defend himself and while it's not completely clear who or what he is (some intro on ch14) he does have a sort of ethic of conduct that he upholds himself to, like not killing someone just because he's annoying or on the way, problem is the rest of the chars don't have this code of conduct and just attack anyone on site 80% of the time. We later we find that it's justified that their companions turn into bastards (really early in the story), still, that doesn't change the fact that they actually behave as psychopaths, so having a reason to do so is good for consistency, which I appreciate, but it's ultimately a moot point unless there is a "let's return them to normality" plot later. Also, this propensity to chaos makes the story very hectic and convoluted and the pace is quite fast too, it's clear from the narration that the manga covers only some parts of the novel.
Also, the world-building is kind of a mess, it's as if the author can't decide what he wan't with the world and thus has absolutely everything in it, from classic medieval kind of fantasy, high fantasy, mechas, modern society, etc. it's very confusing.
All in all, it's not very good. If one can put up with the pointless killing with chars that don't listen to reason and insist on being killed over and over it's readable.

A Good Bit of Fun

[tab]Here is a series which makes fun of most isekai tropes as well as many tropes commonly used in contemporaneous web novels (mainly ones referencing MMORPGs). The reason for summoning is mocked, the acquisition of "cheats" is deconstructed, the strength of powers is parodied, and the harem angle is subverted. The use of various of tropes is justified in unusual ways. The male lead is so OP, he's down right broken, but not in any way you'd expect, nor is his power from any expected source. The female lead is likewise very different from what the genre leads you to expect. The totality of elements is a chaotic mess, with all the psychopathy going on through out.
[tab]Overall, the humour is very much on target, the plot is enjoyable, and the psychotic mess of characters makes this satirization hit home. As its own work outside its element of satire, the plot, main characters, art, and so on, are all well done, however, the minor characters are all skewed in one direction (whether this is a problem or not, depends on the reader). Additionally, the pace is a little fast, and some things are lacking more than surface explanation (probably a problem of adapting a novel to manga form).
[tab]Because most people probably don't get the reference: the subtitle,

Yogiri's code name, "ΑΩ," is a reference to the Bible (Revelation 22:13, to be exact). It is a description of God, especially Jesus, signifying His omnipotence in particular. Its application here is very apt; for a Japanese author to actually do that much research into Western culture, especially religion, is very refreshing, I must say.

Nice change of pace

Welcome to the world where assholes are everywhere. Where OP sages control everything and people are summoned from other worlds(or rather, seemingly only japan because it makes TOTAL sense that mass summoning again and again and again would only be from one tiny country in this world, would probably kill them to have someone from another country... Get this, they're not even called "otherworlders" or something, they're just called "japanese", pfft).

Upon arrival, all of them(except for the mc and another girl and two more who promptly died to dragon dck, no I'm not exaggerating here, they literally died from being penetrated by the very first monster that appeared) gain some kind of "gift" powers from the sage leader(probably?) which is kind of a system with powers, levels and shit. This system also conveniently removes their adversity to manslaughter, they essentially all become major asholes.

We're then introduced to a world full of shtheads who kills other people for whatever minor thing they can imagine. They'll kill when people look at them, they'll kill when people talk to them, they'll kill when people don't laugh at their jokes. They'll probably also kill you if you don't take a piss with the toilet seat up or if you fart in their near vicinity. I can imagine how they'd annihilate an entire city if it blocked their way, because walking around it is for losers. We're talking about power tripping morons with godlike powers granted to them all of a sudden while also removing their moral limiters. It's pretty much a twisted world with people from places here and there(not only japan or this world) and stuck-up btches everywhere. It's rarer to find someone who doesn't deserve to die than someone who does.

So, of course this would be a horrible world for the mc to be in, right? I mean, sht, this place is more filled up with crazy people than the madhouse. BUT! Here comes the twist, or rather the title reason, the mc is weak physically but also probably the scariest person in that entire world, to the point that no one would want someone like him in their world. I don't know if he's a supreme death god incarnate or something but he's got this weird power(which he had even on earth) that makes him able to kill EVERYONE. I mean fcking everyone. He just need to think about it when he sees them. But, of course that wasn't sick enough, so he can also trace malice/killing intent. This means that he can easily, despite his weak physique, kill anyone intending on killing him and evade attacks and sh*t like that. Oh, did I mention how he can sense malice through objects or creatures? So he can kill the origin of it all as long as they display killing intent. Doesn't matter where they are, if they can reach you, you can reach them.

"But, Seregosa, surely that would be the end of it, right? I mean, that's just too OP already..." you say? Yeah, one would think that. However, this motherfcker is intent on making sure that people and things shouldn't be able to stop him. So, he can kill individual body parts if he wants to. If he kills your vision, your hearing, your nose or whatever, it will disappear and forever at that no matter what you do. Well, that's essentially the same as killing them, so it's not a big deal, but imagine if he used that on someones dck? Now that's scary. Well, jokes aside, this power is trying to aim for the top spot of scary powers, so it's actually not limited to biological objects. You see, not only animate things, it can also kill inanimate ones. It doesn't matter if you're a robot, magic/spell, clothes, magic wands, a spirit, wall or any other object, this guy can kill ALL OF IT and by that I mean ALL OF IT. ANYTHING he wants to kill will break into pieces/cease to function, so don't mention your emotions to him because he might decide to try and succeed with killing someone's emotions. Wouldn't surprise me if he could kill someone's love, pride, hate, happiness or anything else like that. Sure, it hasn't been stated yet and it sure as hell sounds a bit too ridiculous even for this power, but I wouldn't be surprised if it happened.

So, let's go on a journey with this protagonist and a wacky girl. The mc seems to be on horse tranquilizers 24/7 becuase he just doesn't give a fck about anything or anyone as he just goes with the flow and doesn't even seem to care about his own situation or the journey(I mean, this is the guy who just kinda wondered what his spasming dragon-pens penetrated classmate was penetrated by and was busy finding that out rather than actually care about that classmate or him dying right by his side and he just picked up his game to play monster hunter after finding it out and killing the dragon instantly). He just kills people who he feels he should kill, which is most people. The girl is somehow almost instantly immune to the fact that people are dying, seems it has to do with her heritage.

Seriously, this mc doesn't give a single fck about ANYONE or anything. Which is pretty much a plus if you're tired of the standard japanese mcs that never kills anything humanoid. This guy not only kills everyone that threatens him, he makes it a habit to kill plenty of women as well because he doesn't give a single flying fck about gender. He even killed a wolf/cat-eared sexy girl very close to the start after she told a fake sob story. He also doesn't always even check who directs killing intent at him and kills them before even seeing them if they're a threat. A fun guy.

I truly recommend this manga(and the novel, though the translation for v2 and v3 is utter garbage which even ruins the novel and I hope someone retranslates it), but for you to like it, you need to feel like the stuff I've mentioned is acceptable or even fun/interesting. A mc that doesn't give a single fck and kills plenty of people in a world full of dcks.

It doesn't make any pretenses. The guy's power is to kill stuff when he wants to. When he wants to, he kills stuff. Pretty straightforward. There's not really any combat, because he kills people whenever they're in danger. I'm fine with that, though!

Isekai is at its worst when it doesn't know what it's trying to be. Arifureita is trash because you can't tell if it's about a protagonist willing to take ruthless steps to ensure his own survival and achieve strength, or if it's about some chuuni who conjures up cars and makes a jailbait harem. Re:Monster is trash for similar reasons. Neither series is more than it claims to be, and often, they become less.

Sokushi Cheat doesn't pretend. It's exactly what it claims to be. I don't know how far the plot can actually sustain itself before he sees the Sage woman and instakills her, but until then, it's okay. I don't think it has the staying power of a One Punch Man, because although the premises are pretty much the same, I don't think the series can survive the premise getting old. One Punch Man does this with interesting side characters and comedy, but I get the impression we won't see either in Sokushi Cheat.

6/10. It's okay, and that's okay.
