With no other options, she goes to the only person she can think of for help: pokerface Ryuji Shirogami, her classmate of 8 years and also the head leader of the powerful yakuza group, Kuryugumi. Ryuji, whose father was also a victim of the same yakuza fight, agrees to take her on as his personal bodyguard. As they set out to find their enemy, Ryuji slaps an increasing amount of debt onto Tsukasa, using all manner of ploys to keep the reluctant Tsukasa by his side.

I'd had this in my To Do List for ages but I'd never gotten around to reading it. Now I'm so glad I did! It's a wonderfully written manga with very lovable characters. It had a very interesting plot and the pace of the story was excellent. The art, at first, looked a bit old fashioned, but that is to be expected. It's actually a great treat to watch how sensei's art became better and better gradually until it was almost perfect!

i loved it. i loved her fighting scenes. the story was good too. only reason i give it a 9.5 was because i wanted to see them together like married or something along that line. but it was a really good manga. i'm glad i read it after putting it off for so long. i didnt like the art in the beginning but it got better and i got used to it. i loved kamo san and also shiva. well i guess i loved everyone in the manga. it even made me cry at points
This is one of my favorite mangas. When i first looked at it I had no hope for it. I only started to read it because i'm a sucker for gender benders. But the more i read the more i fell in love with all the characters. Tsukasa was so amazing. A lot of manga make the lead female totally useless or say that they can fight but when ever there was a real fight then they can't fight at all. But Tsukasa was always strong and independent which made her one of my favorite characters. Not to mention how Ryuji was a great character that helped make Tsukasa so cool. This manga is great. It has fighting, romance, comedy and just an overall great storyline.
I read this about 5 years ago and I still it. I love this series, I'm NOT a fan for shoujo-romance manga anymore but, this series I really enjoyed. I read this at least 7 times and never got sick of it. The main characters are quirky and funny in their own way. This is one of the few shoujo mangas I enjoy. it's an enjoyable read give it a try.
its the best ever, i never skipped any chapters at all and its not boring, you just cant stop while reading this and it really makes you laugh! literally, i always ignore this series thinking it was boring but when i started just of thinking to sneak peek, bam i just cant stop one chapter after another! i even save it all to my notebook, hahaha its definitely a must read, how i love tsukasa, and being a seisai and when she;s fighting, she looks so cool with her bugworm!
despite of its nice reviews, i've been avoiding this manga ever since because of the art. after months of dilly-dallying, i finally gave in. and whew! i was hooked. the heroine is just so unbelievable, she's amazing! u'll just have to get used to her short hair. but when she's in disguise? whew! she's beautiful.
this is hilarious, action-packed manga that i just can't get enough. i want more, more, more! although the romance is a bit sloooow, u won't regret it. they love each other yes, and it shows. they just never get around to itting it to each other sooner! argh! i have to find another manga similar to this.

i thought this ended at volume 16 XD i read this a while ago..honestly, it got a little repetitive and it was also annoying how little AND slow the romance was :/ VOLUME 16 and i dont think they even kissed ONCE.other than that, its an ok manga.Certainly not one of the best.

I absolutely loved this manga! Probably one of my most treasured mangas of all time 😀 And I've been seraching my butt of in trying to find a similar manga but the furthest I've come to it is Gokusen and I very much enjoyed that one too. But isn't there any other? But I hardly think I'll find one wich will make me feel so strongly for the characters and the story...
ANYWAYS!!!! LOVED IT!! <3
This manga was ...okay (was what I naively thought). But I just found myself feeling goddamn tired after reading each chapter. It was dull, and I did not laugh much either. It felt so monotonous, and the art was not great either.
If you are looking for an ass-kicking yakuza manga that will let you laugh your butt of, then read Gokusen. It is awesome.

I am now reading this manga for the fifth time. It's such an original storyline, and I love Tsukasa's character. The art isn't the greatest, but it's easier for me to appreciate than the artwork for Inuyasha, so it's not horrible. The scenes that focus on Tsukasa's ... dark side? are awesome and those scenes get you more caught up in the storyline. This story is nothing like Skip Beat, but they both have the same gripping moments.
