Eh, I thought the story's development was fine. It's reasonably well-paced and I find the swift switches in narrative quite effective. The author allows us to get into each character's head and to understand their feelings little by little at just the right moments, and it helps smooth out their relationship's progress. If anything, I wish the conclusion, ie. when they officially become an item, was a bit more subtle and less spelt out - the politics got a bit jarring - but all in all this is one rock solid read. I was much more invested in it than I had predicted judging from the book's cover.
I found most of this mangaka's other works to be kinda mediocre, but this one is actually pretty good.
It's a fully fleshed out story with well characterized MCs. The pacing is on point and the art is pleasing to the eye. I also really loved the characters expressive faces.
The biggest downside is how frivolously a sexual assault was treated in this. The mangaka could have shown the emotional effect it had on the character.
Overall though, I do recommend this one.
Edit: I boosted my rating a little bit because the latest extra brought in some much needed closure regarding the relationship.

Actually what I'm not pleased about is the use of sexual assault again just because, and then it's portrayed like it's nothing when it wasn't just nothing. Eventually it felt a teensy melodramatic, but...
There are some seriously cute lines and exchanges in this. Also I like the main couple. Worth reading.
This starts off mundane and silly, then develops in to something more serious and becomes a fairly decent read, before crusing straight on past the drama sweet spot and clear off the ledge. I'm not dropping it, because it had enough development to get me attached to the characters, but things went pretty far south circa ch 4.
This story is about a gay guy that was in the closet for many years and tried to deny his nature all the while. Now he's really into someone, a straight guy, and he finds it hard to confess and achieve happiness. It starts as a funny, fluffy story but it get very deep as it goes. I really recommend it.
