I was very disappointed. I thought the author was finally going to show us the other side of the BDSM coin, how and why this man feels the need to hurt himself when he can see that he's better off with this man taking care of him. But no, the story has a rotten ending. I wanted the characters to be taken in hand by the psychiatrists, and for the need to suffer to be overcome. No resilience for the characters, unfortunately.
