Lance is a devil punished to guard the gates of Heaven and Hell and to lie to souls to get them into Hell. He can never tell the truth because to do so would mean he will disappear. He has to send one more soul to Hell before he can finally be free from his punishment. For a devil, lying is easy, right? But what happens when the soul of the person he cherishes walks up to the Gates for judgement?
Oneshot (Complete)

cute overall but i feel like the ending had a major deux ex machina....
So he was already no longer a devil when he lied for the girl's sake? Which in turn exempted him from Hell's lord's curse? That's a bit of a stretch.
Nice setting and i like the idea. Just mediocre plot execution. ((I love the art, however))
Finally a oneshot by this author that has a decent ending. I like the way the works from this author, but so far everything I've read has an ending where I wanted more, or wasn't filling enough.
A cute oneshot which I'll recommend to anyone.
i loved this oneshot i also love other oneshots by this mangaka she's amazing with very good art and sweet lovely stories one of my favorite manga of this author is Land of the Blindfolded which i have read a few times and just the other day after 2-3 years now was thinking of reading it again
super cute. very predictable plot with very predictable characters, but i still like the simpleness of their emotions. and finally i am able to understand the two fold question thanks to this manga!
Uber cliche. but of course that's not the problem. No one goes into this without being almost certain of how it would end.
I think it would've been better if it didn't seem that the romance occurred too quickly. Throw in a bunch of people coming to the gates in a little montage, Lance spending more time with Leo (which is the girl's name... >.> I was like 'wut?') and it would've instantly been a little better. Another thing is the use of honorifics actually being referred to in the story despite the fact that it isn't taking place in an eastern civilisation. I suppose it's possible it's not even taking place on Earth, but for some reason I thought it was in Italy. The anachronisms also got to me.
I loved the story! can be a little confusing but great drawings+amazing story~
This mangaka is definitely one of my favorites
(she has so many amazing one-shots and she wrote The Land Of The Blindfolded!)
i almost thought the "transvestites" mentioned in the manga was an outtake from penguin revolution (in the last volume or something)
on the serious note, it's nice! it's a cute one-shot that makes me sorta wish there was a related story for the other guardian who's chained to the door.
