The story idea was amazingly interesting, with a superb, expansive potential for emotional intensity; the execution was mediocre to poor.
The pacing was off: I didn't want an extended flashback of the dead sister's love story after I had invested fully in Mayu's story! All emotional intensity was lost, replaced with impatience to get back to the "real" story.
Many little things added to my annoyance: secondary characters were non-entities, shallow, with no lives of their own; I didn't believe in the man's love; the intimacy was bone thin. The art was unexceptional.
But I did read right to the end, because it was short and fast-paced, and I naively kept hoping it'd fulfill my expectations from the drama potential I saw at the beginning.

It's cute but well, I don't get it why the author have to have the whole past of the main male character with his wife for almost ONE bloody volume. I didn't get to see the development with the main heroine. 🙁 I skimmed over the vol 2 fast because I didn't bloody want to read it.
for my first romance shoujo manga, Hikoukigumo was really cute. I agree that there could have been more build up to their relationship, but it left me warm inside. There were times i laughed, times i felt really happy, times i could have cried, it was all together very touching. I recommend reading it 🙂 I wish I could add it to my collection..
Not my type, really. Don't misunderstand, I like the plot, the characters, the drawings... however, the flow of the story is not really my favorite. There are 3 volumes and it takes one whole volumes to tell about the past of the older sister and the male protagonist. Therefore, the main couple is just somehow shallow, they dont have many time to develop their feelings together. Especially the previous pages he said "there's only Asami (name of of older sister) for me" and suddenly he feels like keeping the heroine by his side. I'd like the story be longer or the story about the sister be shorter... >"< then it'll be a little less sudden for me >"< I dont feel his love for the heroine at all =(
Anyway, the story is touching... and Ao-kun is kute <3

I found this story extremely cute and sweet. It's quite touching, doesn't take long to read, but when you're finished, it leaves a warmth feeling inside. I'd say it's a light read, no heavy drama, just plain and simple yet touching to the bone.
