I'm so tired of weakness, foolishness, or naivety being called "empathetic." The inability to acknowledge a real negative trait in yourself or a person but just say "I/You/They have too much goodness is my flaw" is core narcissism. In yourself if you view yourself that way, and in thought if you view others that way.
Someone might call it a grandiose narcissism , but at least, I still appreciate and will love the art even though the story and characters are downgrade degenerate, worse than what 'normal' person would call worse.
Women are really are more emphatic when it comes to looks and the 'reasoning' men intended to 'reason out'. Though, it also the time you realized you are being manipulated by a guy, you still didn't resist cus of the things like 'I can change him' or 'At least, he's handsome'. In a third POV, the art and depiction of pain in a relationship is there, but I just don't like the justification and how the FMC choose things.
I guess, I live myself independently and not rely on guys most of the time (no one to rely on to begin with. There's no guy that is too reliable like my Usui 😆) But, I really can't relate to her. I tried to understand that women in that era are not independent and are caged by the society ruled by men. But, this era being sympathetic to guys in that era is quite irable and somewhat overwhelming.
So, for now. I'll focus and appreciate first on your wonderful art than understanding this plot.
As of chapter 52: I don’t consider Björn “annoying” per se, but he’s definitely frustrating at times. With that said, his motivations and attitude make sense, given the history we’re provided. And normally, I don’t like MCs like Erna - doe-eyed, innocent, helpless country bumpkin - but she’s written in a way that doesn’t make me want to throw my phone. The way she handles herself in the most socially difficult situations is impressive, despite her inexperience.
Now if she could stop crying every time Björn touches her, she’d be even more likable character. By far, Lisa is the GOAT in this story. I love her and how she s Erna.
Overall, there’s nothing special that sticks out about the story, but despite all its tropes and stereotypes, I think it’s done decently. Whenever I feel like I want to pull out my hair with how frustrating a character is or event, the story manages to pull the drama back to a manageable level. This is one of those stories where I definitely want to see how it ends, but I won’t be waiting on the edge of my seat every week for a chapter to release.
