I went in knowing that this was not a masterpiece villainess regression/isekai story. I honestly don't expect much when I begin reading manhwa. In fact, sometimes, the best manhwas demand too much emotional commitment than I can muster at times, so I look for fluff like this to scale it back until I feel ready to commit again. So long as the story isn't a complete turnoff, good artwork can carry me a long way. Thankfully, the artwork improved over time--though having picked this up after Secret Lady, I had to scale back my expectations quite a bit.
I personally found the misunderstandings funny and understandable. What I appreciated the most about this work was, however, the father. Yes, I had to look past some idiotic plot points and characterization, even for the father. But he definitely is the one that kept me going. I especially enjoyed the back-and-forth between the father/master and crown prince/disciple.
Basically, think of this like Nespresso, a respectable espresso from a pod when you can't get your espresso from an excellent barista at an excellent cafe. Definitely better than a Keurig or a scalded cup from Starbucks.

The illustration is impressive, it is hilarious but with a captivating plot, I think you have to like the character of the characters to be able to enjoy it but it is definitely a story worth reading.
I found it funny in the beginning, but then it dragged on. Typical doe-eyed, melodramatic FL and unnecessarily gruff ML. Art is average and story is nothing original. I think it only gained the Josei tag bc of some smutty side stories. But the plot and writing is rather childish

Summary: The entire premise of the story is based on multiple misunderstandings. The type of misunderstandings that come about due to poor communication and everyone acting as if whatever weird fantasy they make up in their head is reality. I can tell the author is trying to make it comedic, but it's not working so well for me. I love the comedic misunderstandings in I'm Not That Kind of Talent. Basically, the comedy isn't strong enough due to the serious storyline, but the tragic parts aren't impactful either because of the attempts at comedy.
I would have dropped this if I had to wait for episode releases. I would have dropped this during this read through if it weren't for the fun after chapter bonuses.
Overall, I can't really recommend this story. It's just not great at any one thing. It lacks too much in the plot logic, too. This is at best a time filler if you're desperate.
Here are some reactions during my read through:
As of ch 20: ML pulled a "she's not like other people" and fell for her overnight (literally over the course of a single night). Completely out of character since he's a killer who has walls up to prevent himself from developing an emotional weakness. I am disappoint.
As of ch 30: The father is acting the most like a ML which is a little uncomfortable. He's a total DILF though.
Ch 39: The father is 39 years old. Ehem Ehem, I'm eligible, sir.
Ch 49: Yup, the father is the protagonist of a MUCH MUCH better story. I'd rather that than whatever this story is.
Ch 71: The father can speak to animals. Daddy I want your marriage. Also, the ML wears dumb masquerade masks for daily life as the Crown Prince. It's....not cool at all. What a dork.
Ch 76: Finally the misunderstandings are being uncovered.
Ch 99: Ok. This whole story exists because of the contract. Why did the father sign the contract? It certainly does not protect his family. It's actively putting them in more danger. His characterization is such that he would never trust the Emperor, so surely it's not because he believed the Emperor promised to never order him to kill his own family. The father literally gains nothing from g and loses everything. I really hope there's more to it because this is bullshit.
Ch 104: Ah yes, the classic "trial" consisting solely of wild accusations that the spectators all immediately believe and take at face value. Eyeroll.
Ch 113: Confirmed inexcusable stupidity. The father actually believed the Emperor wouldn't go after his family. Dumbass. This story is really...not good.
Ch 119: Really dumb. Everyone. All the allies are too busy trying to sacrifice themselves to "save" everyone else that there's no united front. It's like herding cats. There's only one goal! C'mon folks. ARGH.
Side stories: Here we go with the family shit. I hate when this happens. I personally do not like children. It's not cute. And the characters suddenly turn into doting parents obsessed with their annoying children. It was already hard enough to see the father Legis practically infantilize his adult daughter during the series.

This manhwa is so so so funny!
I'm only on chapter 34 and I'm cracking up at every chapter! It's already progressing well. I can't weight to binge all of it!
Edit: around the 100th chapter now and I'm disappointed by the FL character and how superficial the overall storyline is. Yeah, it's cute and funny but that's all there is to this story. I think I'm gonna drop it.

The plot is standard villainess fare and the art is nice, but the characters and their reactions don't make any sense to me. I can't make myself read any further.
