This story is focus too much in fan services like naked and horror. But the story is weak. The author try to make many plot. But this does make this story interesting. It is kind of lame. The main character is lame, and dont have bold story and bold role in this story.

I didn't care about anyone in this.

The characters, drawing and the many fights are so generic, I fast skipped chapters without losing anything.

I did like the end twist, only because by that time I had lost hope this manga would be able to come up with anything interesting.

That made me rate it 5 instead of 4, but it's really a waste of time manga.

Just WTF, at chapter 17 when one of the twins approached him, okay, so let's say that the MC doesn't 'Feel' the cheater's presence, but would it be hard AF to even just take a peek at people without his glasses, just Meh

Prior to that, he just let a cheater, walk in on their apartment, well I suppose he can't see em thru door Holes, but still, would it be hard to just take a glance on them without his eeffin glasses?

And he's that so called 'Special' ,when he can't even use his powers when they mattered, it'll be insta kill next time..... I hope.... Anyway, there won't be a next time for me, Dropped after chapter 18

The art and character design are good, too much gore for the gore itself though. Lots of good scenario ideas too.
But the big problem is the characters themselves, I didn't feel anything for neither the MC, nor the heroines, everyone felt so plain or simply bad (apart from the first chapter maybe), that I couldn't get myself in the story at all.

...which is to say that aside from the Easter eggs, this whole thing is going pretty downhill like Deathtopia, the whole thing picks up CoE's decline right from the very start.

For the sake of some additional context:
At a certain point the whole story in CoE became really rushed in which nearly every chapter basically ended up being Gakkou Gurashi!, etc., as perhaps the island turned parts (or even all) of Japan into apocalyptic urban wastelands, where the original + new/mutated flora and fauna from the island repopulate and spread throughout the land. This was just a potential idea I had in mind at the time when envisioning a possible sequel, but all-in-all there's no way of saying that that would be the actual case if it would ever come to be...

Speaking of which, it's highly unlikely that there'll ever be a sequel due to the the author currently working on Deathtopia, and believe me, I'd love to be proven wrong on this. For what lays before us now though, we have a series that's set up with the usual premise: "Your typical young male MC that's living an ordinary life, until a supposedly tragic car/truck accident occurs. This ends up changing his life forever once he unlocks some amazing hidden power(s), and on top of that, he ends up becoming acquainted with some (I'll it it's usually just one, which happens to be the heroine in most cases...) beautiful girls that fight alongside him in the never-ending battle between good and evil."

So yeah, it's that kind of story, except it's playing out with a lotta grit. Looking back into it once more while I write this, I'll it that the author does a pretty good job when it comes to drawing human bodies, mainly being those of sexy women or those of freshly made corpses (at least check out page 41(?) of Chapter 16 to see what I mean by this). His style was distinct enough to have me immediately recognize him as the author of CoE, and like I said, he knows what he's doing in this department.

That said, I have barely any clue as for what's going on with him and the story department. The story itself is extremely lackluster, and never really jumps out as for introducing, exploring and expanding upon some cool potential concepts. It sums up as "the MC can literally see with his own eyes who exactly's a deranged murderer hiding amongst society, as the ing girls use their weapon expertise to try and take down these abnormally strong baddies."

The girls themselves are alright, but because they're all beautiful girls and he's just an ordinary guy, fan service cliches are thrown into the mix, and I hate how the whole thing's being handled. The manga's tagged as harem, yet so far none of the girls hold feelings for him, so it seems romance nor even some decent comedy will be around to give it something to work off of. And like bobIV123 said, the grit and ecchi do not mix well in the grand scheme of things.

I think it can maybe, just maybe become something good in the future, but for now it doesn't quite hold up on it's own as a pretty interesting manga to check out, especially when there's the large CoE shadow constantly hanging over it. Perhaps try out Keyman - The Hand of Judgement if you're looking for a much more absurd approach to the whole gritty, action-packed mystery thriller with a little ecchi sprinkled into the mix, but all done very well and quite creatively.

Would recommend to boys who think they are grown up enough for big boy comics. Pretty much has all the ecchi and horror that boys seek out while being very psychologically shallow and easy to digest for them. In other words, a Shounen comic with some Seinen graphics.

This comic also suffers from the Only One Female Mold trope like Freezing.

Also look out for those Cage of Eden cameos.

5 chapters in and I don't care to read more. Meh. Not that terrible, not that exciting; it might be interesting if it just went with its grittyness, but it seems to want to combine grit, cheap sex appeal, and a main character that's just plain boring. I mean, for most of the 5 chapters I read, he reacts to...events...as a normal person would, but you aren't given any reason to care about what happens to him, you aren't given any real background on who he is and why you might feel sad if, just randomly putting this out there~, some chick was trying to murder him and cut out his eyeballs. It's too bad, this could have been a good story, but I just feel like the author doesn't breathe any life into his characters; that and the cheap sex appeal clashing with the grit, bleh.

In summary, "bleh" at the art and "meh" at the writing. There's a serious problem when the title's more interesting than the main character.

Scanners seem to be late

From today 2014/10/10 The last chapter KIKE scans has released was chapter 5 69 days ago. Deathtopia is serialized in the magazine EVENING which is a bi-weekly magazine so it's one chapter every two weeks so about 2 chapters a month. They are behind at least 9 chapters so far. I hope they continue the scans more frequently
