I found this to be one of Manabe's weakest works in of storytelling. It's also easily his raunchiest work outside of his seinen and dojin work. However, true to Manabe's style, the art is slick, the jokes are hilarious, and you could make a drinking game out of spotting cameos from his other works. The six-year gap between when books 3 and 4 were written is hardly noticeable; there's a slight shift in art style but it otherwise continues right along.
If you're a fan of Manabe, it's definitely worth a read, but I wouldn't recommend it as someone's first experience with his work.
as expected from the author of outlanders
