Firstly, I'm going to agree with the dude below & recommend you seek out the Jojo's Colored Team version.

While Jojo 4 was a lighter, softer Jojo, 5 brings back the harsh gore of seasons prior. Giorno's ability to repair missing body parts lets this series up the ante & creates a few running gags that are great for drinking games.

Giorno is technically born of 3 parents with Jonathan Joestar & Dio Brando both being his genetic father, as well as Joseph's uncle. You can make it 4 fathers if you count the abusive stepfather & the man Giorno saved who protected him from the shadows for the rest of his childhood. Fan artists love to draw baby Giogio with daddy Dio, ignoring that not only did Dio never meet his son, but Giogio also had dark hair until he hit puberty. Like Dio & Caeser, Giorno had a shitty neglectful childhood. & he's even more of a background character in his own series than Josuke was.

When Hirose met Josuke, Josuke was playing with a turtle. When he first met Giorno, Giorno turned his luggage into a ridiculously cute frog. Both Jojos demonstrate their first attacks when the amphibians are attacked by thugs, & both Jojos have repair abilities.

The first meeting between Giorno & Bruno is hilarious. Bruno, who has a boob window so that everyone can see his lace bustier that looks like a chest tattoo, is like a cross between Rohan & Elim Garak from Star Trek: Deep Space 9, & has no sense of personal space. He tries to intimidate Giorno but it comes off as unintentional (?) sexual harassment, launching a thousand memes from the fans & twice as many doujinshis from the fangirls.

The stand abilities in this series are convoluted, everyone is a contortionists who can't stand straight, & Araki still can't draw blood. We've returned to Jojo 2 amounts of extreme model posing to add an element of humor to the fight scenes. The mixing of photorealism, semi-realistic heads on highly exaggerated fashion sketch bodies, & bloated cartoon characters is taken to a new extreme when we meet Polpo, who is the abominable combo of Shigekiyo Yangu, Humpty Dumpty, Jabba the Hutt, & Oswald Cobblepot.

Once Giorno makes a pact with Bruno & tricks the recruiter, he is taken to a restaurant full of androgynous borderline crossdressers in revealing skin-tight cutout clothing & women's hairstyles. He fits right in, & is promptly dared into drinking a steaming hot cup of piss & turning his tooth into a sea creature, because this is Jojo's bizarre adventure, dammit.

By the time they're on the tiny houseboat, which they are hilariously calling a yacht, the art has become oddly deformed, with gigantic bobbleheads atop short anorexic bodies with narrow shoulders & bone-thin arms. Narancia suddenly looks like an 8-year-old girl & appears to be significantly shorter, despite the chapter cover showing him to be the exact same height as Giorno. Sadly, this is not some kind of fluke brought on by illness or chapter deadline; The bobblehead stickman bodies are here to stay.

Mista, who believes the Japanese superstition around the number 4 despite being Italian, has the second instance of a stand eating food & sleeping, the first being Stray Cat from DIU. No one knows if he's bald & his stand is basically the effing Minions. Speaking of oddly Japanese things in Europe, everything in Italy costs Yen instead of Lira.

the Y2K Bonsai Kitten Hoax? One of the oldest memes on the internet? Volume 4 is probably the inspiration for it. & this series is old enough to be.

Volume 5, as far as I can , is the 2nd time a computer is ever seen in the Jojo series. Hilariously the email is supposed to he "untraceable" & "destroyed" after reading. The tech-dumb can be forgiven since the internet was still in diapers when this series came out.

Volumes 6 & 7 were some of the best parts of the series. Giorno is a complete background in both of them, instead focusing on Mista & Bruno, with some really interesting villains & some of the most painful deaths in the franchise.

Narancia proves to be quite the little badass throughout the series, & serves as the Polnareff/Okuyasu of the gang.

Bruno has earned his title as "best Jojo mom."

Trish spends 75℅ of the series as nothing more than a quiet jailbait plot McGuffin with a pair of tits. It's not until Doppio is introduced that she starts talking & developing a personality.

Doppio has the ability to talk to Diavolo through objects like frogs & ice cream cones. Despite being a main villain, everyone treats him like a punching bag & you feel bad for him.

By the time we get to Chioccolata & Green Day, the "loosing hands & feet" running gag is at critically drunk levels, & the concept of standing up straight is a foreign concept. I thought of Finn growing back a lost hand in Adventure Time the way Giorno did & wondered if they didn't have a Jojo fan on staff.

In Rome, we have a man in a thong dressed like a THOT & a crazy dude in a gimp suit who swims through solid concrete chasing down a turtle & a zombie driving a car.

After some dialogue between Chioccolata & Secco, ing Sorbet & Gelato, Prosciutto & Pesci, Squalo & Tiziano, & in sense Diavolo & Doppio, I've come to the conclusion that nearly all of the villains in this season are ambiguously gay couples.

The series ends on some soul swapping & a child becoming the mafia kingpin of Italy. My two favorite characters were killed, but my favorite characters from Jojo 3 was brought back.

For all the flack it gets, Vento Aureo is definitely a consistently paced part. Whatever gripes someone might have with can usually be attributed to the old scanlations. If you think that translations don't have that much of an effect, there are ALWAYS comparison images between the old and new stuff that shows how many times better the new stuff is. I know it won't completely happen, but I do hope that people will have (re)read Vento Aureo with the new translations before making a judgement on it.
