Nibiiro is probably one of the most beautiful mangas out there. The artwork is intoxicating to say the least and the storyline, though designed to give us man on man sex, is interesting and realistic enough to leave you wanting more and more. Watanabe Asia does an amazing job portraying the Japanese culture in the rich and sensuous light that I have always held it in. And when I say sensuous I mean the senses are COMPLETELY overwhelmed by everything. She makes an amazing use of space filling the eyes with details everywhere so that nothing in the story (especially the sex) goes unnoticed. Texture is beautifully rendered, sound is impossible to ignore. This is what manga is meant to be. But I could go on about the artwork alone for hours.

The story does revolve around incest and if your a yaoi fan your bound to run into it sooner or later (while the Japanese are awe-inspiring they're also freaks). I personally don't mind incest, after all this is pure fantasy and forbidden love is the sweetest of all. I usually have issues with supernatural anything in a yaoi and this entire story is based on a curse that the family should only fall in love with blood relatives. I actually like this a lot because it's not in your face magic, but rather a folkloric undertone that helps with foreshadowing.

Overall the story is fantastic and I'm excitedly waiting for the final translated chapter to come out. I know it has already been scanned by ebil_trio it only needs to be translated and cleaned.... If only I knew japanese I'd be all over it.
