For as much as I love the story, I do agree with the previous comment about Dhan became a pushover and Bayan became a spoiled brat. What irked me the most was the concubines getting sidelined and Bayan getting incapacitated by the nagi plot when things could've been more interesting if they were used to their fullest extent. I really wanted the concubines, especially Sama-Hyeon, to be smart and have character development and impact within the story and as someone who is translating the second side story that hasn't been drawn yet (it takes place in the modern era where Dhan is essentially a powerful rich gang leader and Bayan is a 19 year old highschool student) It just feels like Bayan is always going to be a damsel that dhan has to save, surface level wise.

Wish the fandom for this manwha was bigger so that we could expand on the lore, world building and characters via fanfics. I actually have a blog on Tumblr trying to do that exact thing, two infact "imperialsiyo" and "hwadam-stories"

This series deserves several if not more "fix it" fanfics.

I was all about this storyline, but in the end I can't help but be annoyed by her honestly. I'm usually all about FML that go through tragedy, and come out stronger, but for whatever reason, they thought it best to turn her into an entitled brat that got away with embarrassing the emperor infront of his subordinates, and the public, and I honestly feel that to be the stupidest thing in the world. I high key also liked how brutal the emperor was too, but he turned out to be a push over in the end, and lost appeal entirely.

As of chapter 100: The story is really rushing towards the finish line now. I predict it'll end in just a couple more chapters. Kinda sad that the ml is the one cleaning up the concubines. She was doing such a good job. I think the Nagi plotline was a bad move on the author's part. It's incapacitated our fl too much, it's completely against her nature to sit still while her hubby handles everything. They should've at least changed the pov to the ml since he’s the one on the front lines now.

also really disliking this "2nd ml karan" thing... like it's not cute or funny to see him secretly fawning over her or getting a nosebleed over the thought of her bathing with him like what even is the POINT of all of this

These two lovelies absolutely love each other. Their story had me bawling towards the end. This is not your typical Emporer concubine story.

ML does not bed any other concubine except her. His "little guy" only reacts to her. He did have an incident where he got an erection when in the company of another concubine, but it only happened because he was shocked that he doesn't respond to anyone except for FL. The thought of her caused his "little guy" to rise. That concubine was like "finally!" He pushed her away and his time was up. Then went to his one and only love They fell in love quickly but like most love stories their love deepens as they change as individuals and as they grow as a couple. FL is a strong character. Some people say she was stronger in the beginning before falling in love. I believe that to be false. In the beginning she was driven by hurt and pain. She wanted to destroy those that have wronged her. To me, she became stronger after falling in love because ML loves her so much and wants her to be able to stand by his side without questions from anyone. So, ! he gives her an education. First, teaching her the basics such as reading and writing. Then he moves onto an education fit for a ruler. With this new knowledge, she is not only bubbly and beautiful, but intelligent and able to guide the kingdom in a positive direction. I am not sure what others believe makes a FL strong, but being insightful and intelligent is stronger than being vengeful. ! FL's mother set the foundation for the revenge so no one would get their hands dirty as long as there was no interference.
She played the long game. The villagers got what they deserved in the end. They lost their healing powers and means of making money. .

Anyway, this is a great tale of boy meets girl. They fall in love, marry, and have a family. Some drama. No love triangles. There is only one tid bit of the story that really didn't complete and that's...

What the heck happened to the Siyo Chief's son after attending the counsel meeting and lying for the corrupt noble? Mfer needed a punishment. Did I accidentally skip that bit?

I'm at ch 73 and this is one HAWT mamma. Shortly after they meet around ch 22, the Emperor agrees to "consummate" the marriage following a very funny scene that starts with MC telling the Emperor, "I want you." (what's a guy to do).

Like the guards who escort MC from her village, he quickly falls for Bayan. And if I'm being honest, I have too. Bayan is a unique mix of purity, wisdom and courage, with an splash of innocence (without becoming annoying) that lands her in some funny situations.

Don't skip ahead because, what happens to Bayan in her village, drives much of the story. And frankly, the journey with the guards is precious. (I cried my heart out during the sleepwalking scene.)

Once the Emperor takes Bayan as a lover, the harem and noble politics and plots begin. The Emperor is devoted and partners with the MC to uncover their plots. I should also mention that the Emperor hasn't "consummated" the marriage with anyone else in the Harem, nor does he intend too. He kept a harem for political reasons and used them to relieve his curse (1 of 3 storylines thus far).

Anyway, big thumbs up. Lots of "consummation," intriguing storylines, great side characters (I'm in love with the General) and levity (because Bayan is too funny) make for a great romantic drama.

• WHAT IS WITH THE ROMANTIC DEVELOPMENT. they meet on chapter 22!! are you fucking with me😕 and presumably who ends up being the ml2 just gets thrown in there ??
• the art is like pretty ig if not flat but god. i thought everyone was a child cuz of how they were drawn w eyes and height in comparison to their much older looking parents in the first couple episodes but fl is 18 i think 😭
• the writing is so bad i’m saur. it relies on plot bluffs way too much like in order to garner sympathy the author gives the fl this sleepwalking thing.
• also speaking of the fl, she’s a tad op but wtv the real problem is WHY does she change her personality ?? she goes from being really badass and revenge filled to like a giggly ignorant shoujo-esque girl. i was d a strong fl in a josei not this 😕
• world building is interesting ig just like still not fully explored where i’m at. probably the biggest draw of the manhwa. plots like average rn, like not necessarily boring cuz it’s fantasy but just not gripping enough to draw me in
• ml is actually quite interesting. seems to have different facets to his personality. very smart and calculating but also has that blood thirsty madness factor. functions almost like a vampire but wo the sex. but like again saur how many people did he kill 😭 ?

overall: 3/10 the problems cannot outweigh its entertainment capacity
