Looking for a manga or anime with an "intelligent" MC who pretends he's not. Yea, I need a male lead. 4261x

I put intelligent in citations, because he doesn't neccessarily have to be intelligent, maybe he just has insider information about the problems he and his companions face and doesn't want to share that he knows.

Or maybe he really is intelligent but hides it because, when people find out he's smart they start to rely on him, which comes with all sorts of responsibilities he doesn't need or want.

I'd like it if he act a bit Homer Simpson in group, and maybe when facing a problem he shots off some stupid idea and hopes it sparks some new ideas inside his companions heads. And if he's alone he solves everything quickly and then pretends it was luck or whatever.

Thanks!

Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai You could def say the MC is a lot smarter/observant of things around him that he leads on that is for sure.

I doubt that. He doesn't seem to realize that he's got a harem.

Yup, Detective Conan is like that. Ouroboros too, if you're after something darker.

Agni aka Babo Kim from Kubera is also pretending to be an idiot, but he's not the main character of the series so nevermind.

Hmm, the main "antagonist" in Assassination Classroom acts like an idiot? It's not exactly what you're looking for though.

Ah, the main character of Divine Bells turned out to be much smarter than he's letting on, too, he was purposely pretending to be a stupid King. But it's a one-time thing, he stops acting once they start moving.

Seconding (or Thirding?) Detective Conan. Get past the first few chapters and he's become an expert at pretending to be an idiot kid while perpetually hinting clues at the adults.

Yea same with the novel he is WELL aware of everything and everyone's love around him he just....

Doesn't want to ruin the friendship(s) he has not had in the last 10 years of his life by shit being awkward with love. In volume 9 of the novel series he pulls his head out of his ass and finally its to one of his "harem" that he actually does love this person.

What about Sword Art Online? he does know things no one does and tries to hide it (most of the time tho) most of the time he feels like he is some kind of spy working in the shadows to get something done without anyone knowing 😛 some get to know whats happening tho.
Akumetsu its kind of dark and the 1st chars are kind of sexual but he does hide what he knows and how smart he is and "handy" lol not gonna spoil why or how 😛
Itsuwaribito Utsuho he is smarter whan he looks smart enough to cheat people into doing things he wants but this one is about lies and how people fall into them its about tricks so he may not be the kind of smart u want. And its kind of boring in my perspective but people in the forum seem to like it a lot dont know why i almost fall asleeep while reading it 😛 .

The Legendary Moonlight Sculptor (Novel) is like that too. He is a pro, but he is always hiding his true abilities.
