So I was thinking about this today - How do you name your character in a game? When you have the option of naming them of course. 5w3x42

Personally, if it's a game like Pokemon where I'm only going to have one save file, I'll use Turbo or TurboPhoenix, but if it's a game that I intend to play through multiple times, I'll usually go random. Like Oblivion for example, I have characters called Gandalf, Slasher, Bob, Shrik-ti, Buff Man, and even fdjgbkjbsdg (I think I just wanted to hurry up and play 🤣 )

i name almost all my game characters/save files sa my nickname (Jameh) 🙂
Or if its something like a pet/non-human character, I go by the looks. For example; if its a blue cat i name it blueey (lame i know -.-)

Usually, I use my nickname - Casey, But sometimes, as in Assassin's Creed Brotherhood - what an amazing game - when I feel that changing the name might interfere with the story, I use the default name.

There are times when you will miss what you never had. I wonder how you will find what you so desperately need.

recently I started using Straton, before that the same as here, for online games that is....for single player pc games I usually use my real name 😀

I wouldn't want to name some buff guy wielding a sword Timmy or something...(no offense to Timmies out there). 😐

Mostly something like Rozpierdalator or Boskapochwa (female char). It's Polish for emm... De-fucking-stroyer and Divinevagina. 🤢
As for tha nicknames / names, it's a totally different thing - I take them more seriously.

Beliefs are what divide people. Doubt unites them.

It's a more fitting name for a mage.

I just go with the default. When there's none given, however, I use some random names that are unrelated to the game. (That way, I don't end up having a character with the same name as another).

If there's a default, I'd pick it. But, when you really have to provide for the name, I usually make up a name depending on the character's face and the kind of game I'm playing.

I mostly name my character after nicknames in my familey or if I am in a silly mood something rude or just my usual nickname the burden.

Based on how they look.
Examples:
Viking warrior = Ragnvald or some such epicness
Elven Assassin = Illusio
Whatever fits really. I suppose I don't get hung up on it

Usually nicknames completely unrelated to my name that my friends like to call me.
I've gathered quite a few thanks to them 🤣
