The July issue of Shodensha's Feel Young women's magazine is announcing on Tuesday that a live-action film adaptation of Yumi Unita's Bunny Drop (Usagi Drop) manga has been green-lit. 5k2k4z

In the story of the manga, 30-year-old bachelor Daikichi comes home from his grandfather's funeral to discover a little girl named Rin in his garden. Rin is the 6-year-old illegitimate daughter of Daikichi's grandfather, and Daikichi decides to take her in when no one in the family accepts the responsibility.

The manga has been running in Feel Young since 2005, and the seventh compiled book volumes shipped in Japan in February. Yen Press published the first manga volume in North America in March, after announcing its release at Comic-Con International last July.

Haha, I love Usagi Drop. It's such a cute manga. I don't usually watch dramas, but I might have to make an exception.
