I find comedy always work better with voices and sfx.

I guess I'll try watching it first

I say read only. The anime is filled with horrible, unfunny fillers, a few missed jokes caused by unnecessary changes and it never goes to the few of the most significant fights of the series.

And then there is the chestnut fist thingy.... sheesh.
