I totally did not get the last two chapters. Were they still in the other world at the end or something? What was Akatsuki even trying to do? 2a621p

I was confused too, it felt rushed, but I have my theories ... I think they all awakened except the dancing girl, and that the hero gained his freedom, obtaining the same status as "Vid." But it might be he cannot get out of the world, it seems that he created a double of himself in the real world (which is erased when he enters the mirror, very fast in a single ), just like vid.
Then he tries to fulfill his promise by asking God whatever it is about the world or even to get free from the mirror, maybe. But I think it's interesting not to show what the whole world or God is about, it leaves the reader with fascinating mystery...

The only point I couldn't solve was how the blond guy was able to break free from Nil. Probably the dancing girl's kick...

I really liked this read, but the ending was definitely rushed. I kind of liked the minimal action, and the "death note" feel with the MC's encounters. What I disliked was that the hero was not developed enough. Seriously, baccarat? what about self-defense and the childhood dojo instead? And the whole "control" thing too that was present only the first chapters. The main character was not convincing for me, though I still liked him. In fact all the characters were interesting (the art guy!) but not enough chapters to develop them ...

Well I'll read the author's next works though.

Agree with the whole things you said.
There's also that ballerina girl, seems that they're also searching for her

Vid also stabbed him with spear using Homare's body...

True, I hadn't seen that.

Yeah what a shame I think it was just starting to get really good at the auditorium, with the death note feel in the fights and character development, then bam! end. I guess japanese readers didn't like it that much.
