Depends.
I've always liked the name Allen.
Reading D.gray-man made me like the name even more and it IS a normal name, so why not?
Unfortunately, my boyfriend does not like the name...
But like I said, you could do it. People name there children after characters from books, movies or legends all the time.
I wouldn't give my child a japanese name while living in Europa however....
That's just strange. (In my opinion)

Haahaha! You amuse me!
You fail in reasoning. Exept if your father's name is Ryuto or something.
You must be joking!

Hell no. I like manga and anime, but not that much...

Just because someone's head was chopped off doesn't mean they're dead. That's just silly.

No.
Just no.
Especially if they're not even remotely Japanese.

As long as it's not a Japanese name or a really favorite character of mine or a main character.

I might do it. Not because it's from a manga or anime, but I like the name itself.

If I have a girl I plan to name her Sayanara (close to Sayonara <3), Saya for short. I got the name from Black Cat (the Saya part) but, (as much as i love Saya's freedom and badassness), i would not be naming her after Saya specificly. It's just cuz i love the name.
I also like the names Yuki (for a girl), Yuri (girl), Daisuke (guy) and Kaitou (guy). Most of those names I got from anime but I dont think of the characters when I hear the name....
I do plan to use them, but also give then normal middle names so that they do have a choice as to what they want to be called. Like Sayanara Dakota or something >.>....
lov u, lov u, lov u, lov u, lov u, lov u, lov u, lov u, lov u, lov u, lov u, lov u, lov u,........not. u no u lov me tho!

naming a girl Yuri will give her a shock if she googles her name for fun one time in the future

Yes. If it's somewhat like an english name, why not?
Examples would be:
girls- Lucy (FT), Maria (ATLS)
boys- Ciel (Kuro), Ash (Pkmn) .
Also, I wouldn't mind naming my child Haru (as in spring) cos I love spring. Or Yuki (snow) cos I love snow.
Names like Hana, Aya, Mayu, Mika, Akira, Kei are acceptable to me too.
