This week's poll was my own idea as a follow-up to last week's poll. It kind of even extends into how you treat Amazon reviews, game reviews, Ebay sellers, etc. 2z734f

You can submit poll ideas here
http://mangaupdates.sitesdebloques.biz/showtopic.php?tid=3903

Previous Poll Results:
Question: Do you post online opinions about the manga you read? (comments, reviews, blog posts, etc)
Choices:
Always! - votes: 150 (2.9%)
Sometimes - votes: 971 (18.7%)
Seldom - votes: 1776 (34.2%)
Never - votes: 2296 (44.2%)
There were 5193 total votes.
The poll ended: March 11th 2017

Figures. I never review anything either.

I don't have an option this week, unless I pick #2. Because to me, what deserves a comment/review depends on not how much I like or dislike it, but on whether I have something to say about it that hasn't been said already. This can happen with series I love, hate, or have neutral feelings about.

For example, if the majority of comments are unfairly criticising something, whether I loved that manga or just thought it was average, I pitch in and try for something a bit less hate-mongering. If, on the other hand, something is being endlessly praised and nobody has pointed out a single flaw, I'll comment with a more unbiased view in a pros-and-cons fashion. On the other hand, if something is really good or really terrible but doesn't have a single comment, I'll write something. (Which means that if I found a series to be average, I'm not likely to be the first to comment on it, since there's no impetus)

I guess I take the commenting thing a bit more seriously than most people. Odd, because I rarely go by reviews when I'm deciding what to read or watch. But then again, I rarely agree with majority opinion so there's no point in my depending on the comments anyway. If I had, I'd have missed out on half of my current favourites 😛

I usually write reviews regardless of how I like the series isn´t well worded but it´s the one. I just need to have an option to speak up.

When the series has no or few reviews and the description is not enough, and it managed to pick my attention someway. 2nd should be my choice, but the 'regardless of how I like the series' does not fit at all because my decision depends on it too...

I do the same.

Although I read reviews all the time, I've only written a few. If I like a series, what I think about it has usually already been adequately conveyed in other reviews. If I don't like it, I don't want to steer anyone anyone away from a series, because it might be to their taste even if not mine. Which is silly, because people use reviews to decide whether to read something, and my opinion might be useful.

I think that I feel since I don't write reviews for everything I read, that I shouldn't write any. Which is also silly.

I'd say that I comment when I have strong feelings (positive or negative) about the thing I've read. And I'm more likely to express my opinion if it differs from the ones that have already been posted. I chose "When I hate the series", because it happens more often.

I usually review a series regardless of whether I enjoyed it or not. If I'm going to spend time with it, I hope I can get my opinion of it out there.

I rarely write reviews but when I do it's because I have a strong opinion; either I really love it or really hate it. The two happen equally often so I'd say none of the options really fit for me.

Hmm. I picked option four but, I think I usually write reviews only if there aren't any/many reviews for an item. Otherwise no matter how much I liked or disliked it, there are usually already reviews there explaining the pros and cons of the item 😛 .

I write reviews if I really like a series or I really hated it. I can like a series and not write a review most of the times. The same goes for if I hated it. So this poll was hard for me to choose just one. Needs a "When I love/hate the series" option.

Whenever I got something significant to talk about a series...and usually when I finished a series.

Same with me a lot of the time. I wish there was a "when there aren't any reviews yet" option.
