humans put lots of meaning to silly things like SOUND

if something does fall...that is established in the question...that means that it makes some form of sound...as it falls and when it hits the ground

the last time i checked humans are not the only living beings that can pick up on vibrations

and unless all life on this planet is dead some animal,insects,form of life would pick up on the vibrations/sound of this tree falling

I kind of agree. This makes me think of when people ask, "Would you say this glass is half-empty or half-full?" and I just want to say, "It doesn't matter! IT'S THE SAME THING!!"

You could ask as an extension of the tree question though, how do you know the whole word isn't some sort of simulation like in The Matrix, and that nothing beyond your perceptions exists? It could be like a game that only loads what's absolutely necessary in order to save RAM and processing power. If that were the case, you might also ask, how do you know anyone else is real, or are they just simulations too? Say you graduate from school and you never see half of your classmates ever again - are they still out there in the world, or did they cease to exist because they're no longer part of your life?

Really you could just go on and on with philosophical questions like this. Of course thinking about life and the world can be valuable, but I don't really feel like endlessly postulating about this kind of stuff would ever get you anywhere.

YES!! exactly thats the point of the question
theres much more to it than a tree falling

i say it doesnt make a sound because what is proof of the sound? its existence is its proof right? but what is existence? how do we know someone or something exist? i believe memory of someone or something is proof of its existence because if you were to die and no one never knew you and you left no physical or mental reminder of your existence behind did you really exist? so does the sound exist? but then again im probably wrong 😀

The tree would not explode... or as you put it rip apart. It would just eventually freeze... depending on the distance from the sun and if it gets direct sunlight.

The sound is there.
Sounds exist as they are, not as they are perceived.
This way of thinking has become obsolete.
The question itself is just a troll for the people who danced
to get rain. Making a sound and making a perceived sound
are two different things. If you're to discuss philosophical dilemmas,
rather discuss whether the world is predestined or not.

There's a sound, there's just no one to hear it.

i'm not so philosophical so the answer is quite straight. it makes a sound. weather someone is there or not does not matter. how the hell does it fall anyway? it just fall!! it doesn't have to wait for other people to witness it for the tree to fall.

I don't care if this tree makes a sound or not, I don't care if people are there or not, I just don't care.
My world is my world, as it is to everyone. Everyone lives in their own bubble, be it shared or not.
There's more, there's less, there is what there is.
Thinking about what ifs is really just playing childish games.
