The reason it is shounen is because its published in a shounen magazine.. it has nothing to do with the story or art..

I havent read the manga, but IF you are completly SURE its not shounen then you can change it.
Demographic is mainly decided on its story and the visual content.
Edit:
Magazines gives you the general idea of the type of story which is published .

This is shounen. It is published in GanGan Powered, which is a shounen magazine. I am locking the genres so that no one can change it.

😕
...how bout checking the REST of the chapters? Lol.
It drops the pretense of being shounen (possibly suggested by the editor of the shounen mag it published in) like a bad habit several chapters in... the JRPG references disappear rapidly, and hordes of bishies replace the health bars. Cue in dozens of chapters of shoujo wangst of the "I'm not worthy to be with my prince (hero)" variety and a typical story of a girl willing to go to ridiculous lengths like changing every single thing about herself and betraying all she once valued for her boy.
It's a clear-cut SHOUJO "bad girl redeemed by love for a good guy who doesn't know the half of it",
then finds out and betrays her, and then ends up being veeeeery very sorry cuz he realizes Reformed Bad Girl was the best thing to ever happen to him. (howzat not shoujo, especially with a) the ARTSTYLE, b) HORDES OF BISHIES?!)

Superior isnt all about a love triangle. Trust me, I've read it enough times. Its a manga that shows the growth of the main character through her interactions with humans (and the hero). Yes, she loves him, but nothing ever really happens. Honestly, it gets dark in a lot of places. Give it a chance.

you guys read, this right? demographic depends on targeted population group, not plot, art or anything else. ONLY where it is published in.
(fyi that's the reason webtoons don't/shouldn't have demographics)
it's sad that this is called shoujo just because of the nice art, female perspective and that the characters don't look like trash cans. reflects badly on shounen manga...
and about the clear-cut shoujo, apart from generalizing all shoujo, you seem to have missed the point.

demographic depends on targeted population group
a) NO... or rather, not quite. It refers to the targeted population group of the manga, yes, but not necessarily the magazine it runs in. The people buying Jump and the people buying tanks of a certain series in Jump are more than likely to be utterly different. If that STILL doesn't make any sense to you: THIS http://mangaupdates.sitesdebloques.biz/series.html?id=13885 runs in the Ecchi/BorderlineH-themed Young Animal. Does that make it softcore pron? Negative.
b) shoujo is more of a genre than a demographic.
c) magazines have been known to DIVERSIFY content for CROSS-DEMOGRAPHIC APPEAL to draw in more customers. Or for lots and lots of other reasons, from stealth marketing another publication by the same house, to testing the waters for potential major changes, heck, to providing convenient excuses for readers being caught with something silly or inappropriate... Ever heard of "buying Playboy for the articles"?
This here has a shoujo mood, bishies, and just ooozes sap. It's the sappiest series not tagged shoujo/josei on this site ever, the artstyle is ornate shoujoish, it's got a girl lead surrounded by bishies, said girl lead is an absolutely lovestruck cutesy idiot, and the male lead is a flat one-dimensional best-of-the-best with zero personality, and it's theme is war but there's zero focus on the mechanics of the violence? ...HECK YEAH IT'S A SHOUJO

not necessarily, just because there is a shoujo mood and bishes, it does not make the manga a shoujo. this manga is written with the intent to target at teenage males and that's what makes it a shounen manga. plot and art does not matter, besides it has never been stated that a shounen manga has to have a single guy and tons of girls surrounding him, whilst shoujo mangas have to have a dimwit girl and few hot guys. these are just generalizations and should not be used to categorize manga into whatever genre you think it should be in.
there are some mangas that is Male-Oriented Manga with Shoujo-esque Art, like this http://mangaupdates.sitesdebloques.biz/series.html?id=1325 but that does not makes it a shoujo, it is a shounen.
and as i have said before the author create this manga to target on young MALE audiences, therefore it is a shounen, whatever else does not matter.
saying it is a shoujo when it is shounen is quite disrespectful to the author, in my opinion

Shoujo and Shounen have absolutely nothing to do with content. Just because they have elements that could appeal to other demographics does not change their designation.
Like My Little Pony. It's a little girl's show that has been taken over by teenaged males...doesn't change the fact that it's still a little girl's show.
