There's one thing that already explained in the earlier series but I vaguely about it.

1. Katsumata was having flashback with pregnant woman, that's his wife right?
2. What did Katsumata did in the past? I vaguely he killed his family..
3. If he killed his family, so his motivation is to prevent his tragedy to repeat again?
