Ah, one of my close guy friends calls gay people in a rather negative term. Irritates the hell outta me, and being the violent person I am, I kick him most of the time. Other than that though, most of my friends couldn't care less either way. However, I wouldn't go out of my way to yell at someone I didn't know about bouthing gay people. However I'd probably develop a dislike for 'em. 2jo5t

Sadly enough, that was the way my hometown was. If you confessed any amount of homosexual feelings to anyone, you were eventually disowned by your parents, and then promptly moved to live with a relative far away, or go to a boarding school.

Which was almost laughable, because suddenly in my school this epidemic of claiming you were a lesbian took over. (Not many males caught onto the trend of homosexual confessions.)

The answer is yes. It's doable. I have a few gay friends, and it's really just fine. In all other aspects, they are just like other people. I think that the younger generation is more tolerant of it because they grew up among gays who were openly that way before they could develop a fear of them. I find that my parents are disturbed by it, but I don't know if they'd disown me if I said that I was lesbien (which I'm not). It's just that homosexuals are a bit "different" and some people think that they're alien almost.

I'd probably be really angry inside if a person used "gay" in a negative term, but I'm usually too quiet to do much (unless I'm close with the person, then I would probably talk to the person). However, if a person took it to a whole new level by insulting a person and such, I would definitely do something about it.

I really never could understand it from the point of view of those homo-hating people. My mom doesn't hate homos but she's a religious person so she doesn't accept them. I mean I can understand it if it was in a religious way, but some people... they just hate them because everyone else hates them. That just annoys me to no end.

A gay/lesbian is a person and everyone should treat him/her as a human being. I don't understand why people look at him/her any differently than anyone else... would anyone care to explain? Well.. unless that person had some very.. bad experiences with one.

I am ok being friends with gay people, I know a few and it doesn't really matter to me. Now, it does bother me when a gay couple is making out right in front of my locker (it happens ALL the time) but it also bothers me when straight couples are making out in front of my locker, so it doesn't have to do with being gay...

While it does make sense what ya said(somewhat) my point remains, being gay is one form of being diff, so why is it that you would abuse/hurt them just because of a lifestyle difference?

Yes, some people may see it as wrong to be with the same sex, since it does nothing for the species and you cannot reproduce, but if it does not affect you, why is it that people would look down upon it?

...I would argue that sexual orientation is a lot closer to gender or race than what hobbies you choose, but regardless, I don't think that even most of the people who are homophobic or at least feel uncomfortable around homosexuals would condone actual violence as a solution.

Because that is the propaganda I grew up with, "Gay people are sick, and against God, they should be killed and will go to hell", you were not born in such environment so you have different views and opinions, I have been taught my whole life that gay people are sick, so I think that they are sick, so everybody around me thinks that they are sick, and so will the kids of everyone around me, and in my country it will never change, and that is why nobody gives a damn if someone abuses a gay guy, good enough for you, I just stated my opinion, no need to get all high and mighty on me because of it
