Personally, it's a blessing as long as I have access to humanity or other intelligent lifeform and don't get myself into some kind of long term troubles. 92o5r

I'm actually in a process of seeing if I can make a story where the main protagonist is an immortal who finds it a curse, whereas the second protagonist (his friend) is an 'immortal' who finds it to be a blessing. So this poll is pretty much on point.

I think it would be great if I knew how to fake and recreate my identity every few years...was able to start a new life whenever and wherever. That is a must.

I think I also need to be wealthy for it to be a blessing
otherwise I'll just be cold and hungry forever.

A curse. Watching all of your friends, family, possessions slowly rot away, wither and die while you just stay there eternally would be a torture.

A curse. I happen to be getting old, so I can get just a taste of what it would be. These days, the world around us practically remakes itself ever 100 years (or less). Imagine having been born in the 19th Century and living into now. Everything around you would at least seem weird, and many things would be truly disgusting. Your religion would change til it seemed almost alien. Your country would go through horrible wars which you'd have to scramble to stay out of and see your family and friends die in. Etc.

Worst of all, technology would always be changing. You'd have to spend much of your time struggling to keep up with those changes which you would find it hard to believe were even happening. And if you didn't keep up you couldn't survive economically.

On the other hand, it wouldn't be bad if you had a secret base full of gold!
