I really love Hwang Mi Ri's works, and this one falls wonderfully alongside them. It is a great plot with many twists and heart-beating moments. I especially love how this really isn't a play on Ashenputtel/Snow White, but a multi-layered hell. I always wonder if this is the Korean culture afterlife. 61r1c
I really loved this story because it discussed several issues (eyes, self-confidence, how you appear to others, how to continue expressing your love, etc) that are quite relate-able to real life. Of course, the plot still must follow a shoujo manga style, which honestly still got quite a doki doki feeling from me. The lovely artwork really added to the lovely feeling showing various facial...
It is imperative that you read this knowing that it is a manhua because of the many cultural references to Chinese mythology/historical beliefs. Having background in this topic ensures how absolutely shocking the claims within the story. Furthermore, you will appreciate the work much more if you look for the themes and messages in this work, and consider the connections between the stories of this...
This is a very common shoujo plot except there was little excitement. There are many moments when it made me smile for happiness for the princess and there are interesting moments with the princess's gender bending. However, this story really lacked the contemporary, feisty protagonist that fights more than pleasing her father. It's not bad especially for a light and quick read.
This manga loans off on the idea of a host club sort of similar to Ouran High Host Club, but is far from entertaining. There's not enough information on the characters for you to empathize, which makes the story (regardless of any development) difficult to enjoy.
Not one of Hwang Mi Ri's best works, but all 47 chapters are translated. What worked nicely is the emphasis of family and love. It is definitely very rushed at times and hard to suspend your disbelief, but if you are used to reading shoujos, this is doable. In agreement, the translations are very choppy and the artwork also at times is too limited. Otherwise, this is alright.
Not that her other work isn't a historical romance or that it is more believable than this plotline, but I really am enjoying this manga. It may be due to the characterization of the characters and how the natures of the prince are revealed through several chapters. Again though, I would prefer it more if the female protagonist acted tougher - and there are moments when she does.
The heroine is definitely someone to like because of her direct attitude and fighting spirit. The plot is deep with both good-looking boys having their reasons of liking her. I don't feel that the characters change much, but their personalities generate many comical moments. The drawing is good as well. If you are a shoujo type, do read.
I definitely have my bias though on who she should go with...
Despite the great artwork and great ideas in this work, the first chapter so far is very disappointing because of how confusing the organization is. We are only at one scene, but we get thrown into several flashbacks or to other characters.
The story follows the usual plot line of this author's works. You empathize with the protagonist for her sad past, yet love her determined spirit. The story itself is filled with excitement and it serves as a great journey. I don't know views of Italy, but the scenic backgrounds are gorgeous. It is definitely worth reading!
